Exactly, but see Q, what you said about America's true power resides in it's citizens is absolutely true. So, all of what happens to America isn't Obama's fault. The theory of government for us is to be ruled for the people, by the people. People have the right to make changes in America, therefore not making the president completely liable for things that go wrong.

What's your point? I do blame the idiot uneducated fools who got caught up in the hype for President Obama becoming President.

But what you also ignore is that the office of the Presidency holds tremendous power, that can only be checked by the people every 4 years. And there is no denying that since President Obama has taken office the stock market has had an unbelievable drop. Well, it's not unbelievable to me since I predicted it, but to the commoners who believed all would be well, it should be. The power of the Presidency is huge, and when Congress is aligned with him there is relatively little to stop him from pushing insane agendas.

I agree, the power of America resides in the people. In fact, those were my exact words.

But the President does deserve the blame for things he messes up.

Uh, no Q the stock market has been in the toilet since before Obama was even inagurated. What happened was it had a half-meltdown in Wall-Street and people flipped out. What you're not getting is that's how a depression happens. People freak out when they're stocks begin to drop, so they sell, making the stocks pay money, making the quotes go down. That's how the last one started, and then it was in full fledged bloom when the banks in fact used the money to keep themselves from not being bankrupt. So, obviously it's not anyone's fault that Wall Street managed to have a meltdown for some reason before Obama was even president, and in fact, Obama has passed a bill for the economic stimulus restoration and recovery (or something like that, I'm actually paying attention in History class). It's not Obama's OR Bush's fault that the stocks went down. It's in fact the people's fault that they started selling like crazy.

Yes, the power of the presidency is huge, but they really only have the power to enforce laws and such, and that power alone is huge enough. Congress can't control everything. I mean, would you blame Obama if the drug trafficking became 10 times greater in his term? Hm? Coz it seems to me like you just might. Congress can't control everything within the country, so it's up to the people to help them and not blame them for every little thing that happens.

Mhm. Do you know when the greatest drop in the stock market occurred? Of course not. Let me illuminate something that your history teacher seems to be ignoring.

Did you know what happened the day after Election Day? The biggest post election stock fall in history. Things should have stabilized, instead they plummeted. Inauguration stocks fell huge.
The appointments he has made have caused drops.
His speeches, have caused drops. My dad counted a 25 point stock drop during one speech.
And this stimulus has caused drops.

And do you know why I know all this? Because, my dad invested almost all his money in the stock market when President Obama got elected expecting President Obama to turn the economy around and make a killing.

And now he has lost it all. To no fault but his own.

No, but see Obama wasn't even considered president during that time span of the first chart. Bush was still president, but no one blames him because no one CAN coz it's not even his fault. It's not Obama's fault either. He's trying to build it up. If you think running the most powerful country in the world is EASY you've got stuff coming for ya Q-buddy. It's hard running a country, let alone a country as powerful as America. You can't be judgemental unless you've had that position. And as such, you probably won't until the future, so you can't really judge people.

And, of course, what would happen if Bush was still president, hm? What if the stock market had plummeted anyways? You can't blame the whole thing on Obama. If Bush had been president, people would have been blaming him too. Actually... people were blaming him a lot before that but that's not the point.

Personally I would never play the stock market. In the TAG program I was in, I had to study it for like 3 months. Believe me, too much anxiety in that business.

You also have to give Obama credit for pulling us out of Iraq. Our mission was a done deal three years ago. Once the war is over, we'll stop splundering our money on Weapons of Mass Destruction.

You're wrong. Stock market investors considered President Obama's policies when they invested Wednesday, November 5th. And President Bush had the Dow Jones at 14000 and for the better part of his presidency higher than that. To blame him for this is quite an immature notion. You do not have to be president, to make the economy go up or down. If you are coming into the office, Wall Street ignores the President who had no Congressional backing but watched the new President. And disliked what it saw. Afterall, you can clearly see by the charts I worked hard on looking up that the stock market fell big on ELECTION WEEK. What does ELECTION week have to do with president Bush? Nothing. What does it have to do with President Obama? Everything. Why would it fall then?

Did you really just tell me I can't judge President Obama because I haven't had that job? I'm sorry, but you're wrong. You act like I personally dislike the guy. Which is wrong again. I am judging him based on actions, and his own words, and how it is working. And looking at these factors, you can easily see things are working poorly.

I agree. But people get easily swept into hype.

President Obama has not gotten us out of Iraq. He signed a treaty that said most of our troops would be withdrawn 20 months after that day. 4 months longer than he promised on the campaign. All it really did was back up the order President Bush had gotten from Parliament promising that we'd be out of there by 2012. But no one covered that. Why? Because President Bush gets credit for nothing. That is the deal. And for the world, Iraq was a very successful mission because we didn't pull out 3 years ago. Thank the Lord people with that mindset didn't suceed. It 100% guranteedly stopped a genocide.

That last line makes no sense.

And for the world, what does any of this have to do with a falling stock market? None. You are letting emotions about Iraq cloud your judgement on cold facts.
