by Roku felt his oxygen running out, the arm that was choking him started to ease up, now was his chance! He swung his elbow back as hard as he could, striking the person behind him, he fell to the ground, and took a deep breath. He finally got back to his feet and swiftly turned around.
In his vision he saw a dark haired woman with a gray cloak on. She started to dance with excitement,
“Who are you?” Roku demanded.
“I’m your teacher! Lesson one is over! You passed!” She said with glee.
“Umm,” Roku said, very confused.
“My name is Tamiko, and I am here to ask you one question.” Roku looked at her with even more bewilderment. “Do you hate the dead?”
Tomi was resting on a tree, his straw hat over his face, to block out the sunshine. He gently raised his head, looking to the side of him.
“Oh yeah,” he said to himself. He leaped out of the tree, and kneeled on the ground. He then shouted “Awaken!”
The ground started to rumble, the dirt in front of him started to cave in to the ground, as it fell a gray pair of hands made its way out of the hole. They grabbed to the sides of the ground around the hole.
Tomi moved and started to lean against a tree, waiting impatiently for the dead to come entirely out of the ground. “Take your time,” he said sarcastically. The dead had finally made itself out of the hole, and the hole started to close up with dirt again.
“Master,” it said with a dark voice.
“Go do my bidding, find me a juicy soul. One that is powerful and will fill your hunger, and mine,” Tomi commanded.
“Yes”—
“Silence”
Tomi then bent over to the ground, he pointed to the ground, and said “Awaken” he took two steps to the right and repeated the process. He did this three times.
“Now Kenji! Follow me!” Kadami yelled as he leaped out of Kenji’s window; he landed in a large field, which was to the side of Kadami’s house. “Jump Kenji! Jump!”
“Uh, wouldn’t it be easier for me just to use the stairs.” Kenji said as he scratched his head.
“Oh, I guess so.” Kadami said, uncomfortably.
Kenji stepped down his stairs,
“Hey! You’re awake!” His mom greeted him as he came down. Kenji hid his new sword behind him,
“Yup. I’m gonna go see Roku, I’ll be back before dark.”
“I’m glad to see you’re not too traumatized to do anything.”
“Me too,”
Kenji pulled the handle to his door, and strolled out.
Kenji looked up to the sky, dark rain clouds, as usual was in his vision.
“Took you long enough,” Kadami said, “Now, let’s go to that forest.” He continued as he pointed to a forest that was near the pasture.
“Race you!” Kadami said, as he took off.
“Hey! You cheater!” Kenji yelled as he started to chase after him.
They both started running with their blades out as they made it into the forest. Oddly, Kadami kept running.
“I think we’ve made it deep enough into the forest,” Kenji said as he jumped over a large log. Kadami looked behind himself, and then quickly turned back around. “What are you doing?” They kept running for about 20 minutes, and then Kadami stopped.
“This is good,” Kadami said. The surrounding area was pretty open compared to the denser parts of the forest; the trees that were around were still all dead.
“Took us long enough,’ Kenji said out of breath, as he caught up with Kadami. Kadami pulled out another syringe,
“Oh no! I had finally gotten used to the first injection! Not another!” Kenji desperately said.
“Oh, this’ll be your last, unless you don’t get it on your first try.” Kadami said with an evil glare.
Kadami stabbed the needle into Kenji’s neck.
“Holy frick!” Kenji said.
Kadami then came towards Kenji with his blade in the air, and swung it at him. Kenji lifted up his blade, which had caught Kadami’s in between it’s hooks. He pushed his sword toward Kadami, backing him up a few steps. Kadami pushed harder. The strength was too much for Kenji to handle, knocking him back very far; he hit a tree, making a huge crack in the bark.
“Did I just survive that?” Kenji asked,
“You’ll have power greater than that if you concentrate your adrenaline, now let’s continue.” Kadami said. He swung his double sided blade around, and then appeared behind Kenji.
“You’re so fast!” Kenji yelled. He hardly turned around to block his attack. He caught the top part of the blade, I’ve got him he thought, the bottom blade then swung up into Kenji’s thy, cutting into him.
Kenji let out a cry of pain, and fell to his knees, letting go of his blade. Kadami stepped towards him and slashed at him, Kenji had hardly rolled out of the way to dodge it. He could see his blood tracking behind him.
“Are you trying to kill me?”
“Kadami gave no answer rather he continued to swing another attack at Kenji with the bottom of his sword, Kenji rolled forward, and grabbed his sword. He stood back up and turned around to see Kadami’s blade at his chest, it pierced through him.
Kenji coughed up blood, and grabbed Kadami’s blade to keep his balance.
“Why are you doing this? How does this make me more powerful?”
“You’ll see.” Kadami said. He pulled the blade out of Kenji’s chest quickly and then got ready to swing another attack.
The dead approached the end of the forest, and saw a long blonde haired girl in a school uniform. The dead leaped at her and hit her head on the concrete. Yakama screamed, but when her head hit the concrete she got knocked out. The dead lifted her over it's shoulder, and started to run back in the forest.
“Yes, I do.” Roku replied truthfully.
“Very well then, I am a crusader, and now you are too. Isn’t that great?” She shouted with joy.
“Uh… What do I do?” Roku asked. He was very interested and believed that this woman was completely honest.
“You were chosen to kill zombies for the rest of your life, just like I was!” Tamiko answered.
“Wow, that’s great. I guess Roku said as he scratched his head.
“Now, Roku, this is only going to sting a bit,” Tamiko said. She grabbed at her belt and pulled out a syringe. “I’m sorry bout this, but it’s necessary” Roku looked at the needle with fear. Tamiko injected it forcefully into his neck.
“Ah!” Roku screamed,
“Sorry!” Tamiko immediately said,
“Now, Roku, pick up your weapon!” She commanded.
Kenji slowly stood back up to his feet, he held his weapon up, preparing for Kadami’s next attack. Kadami swung his bottom blade underneath Kenji’s blade, cutting Kenji’s hand. Kenji fell to his knees. Kadami impaled him through his stomach, and Kenji fell on his face.
“I’m no fool.” Kenji said. His words were muffled in the ground. He lifted up his face, “You came out here just to kill me. I understand this, but I just want to know, why?”
“Ah, Kenji, if I were to explain it to you it wouldn’t work properly. Just remember one thing, I will never kill you.” Kadami replied with an honest tone. He lifted up his sword and stabbed it into Kenji’s spinal column. Although, it is taking an extra long time for him, maybe he wasn’t suited to be a Crusader. Kadami thought, he then looked over to see Kenji off of the ground swinging his sword at him.
Kadami did a back flip and hardly dodged it.
“I am feeling incredible power, and I like it.” Kenji said calmly, he then appeared directly in front of Kadami as he landed the back flip, Kadami had barely blocked his attack.
Kenji started pushing Kadami back, causing the ground behind Kadami to break apart. Wow, this is astounding, boy!
“Finally boy, now the effects have established! Adrenaline appears the most when you are near the verge of death!” Kadami yelled, “Now! Show me your full power!”
She then saw a man with green hair walk towards her. He appeared to be the origin of the voice, “My name is Tomi, and you will be my slave, but if you don’t want to co-operate, I could always just kill you.”
Yakama looked at him. “You got that straight?” Tomi lifted her up by her shirt, leaving her able to fall just by him letting go. “Do you understand?” Tomi let out with a harsh tone, “I’ll give you a minute to think about it.” He said as he threw her to the ground.

Yakama woke up, to see four ghoulish faces hovering over her. She looked around, and tried to scream, but her voice wouldn’t allow her to. She suddenly heard a clam voice say, “Good, you’re awake. When I told my minion to get a great soul that was powerful, he didn’t succeed. But he did get to succeed to get a beautiful and juicy soul.”She then saw a man with green hair walk towards her.
