Akatsuki Conspiracy...?

This theory is the product of boredom between me and OblivionSoul.

Okay, well, you guys know how Tobi wears that mask? Anyone ever look closely at what the symbol is on the mask? It's an orange spiral. What village has orange spirals on the Chuunin and Jounin vests? That's right, Konohagakure does. And what does that mean, pray tell? That led us to believe something we'd never thought of before.

Tobi is spelled T-O-B-I. What do you get if you add an O and shuffle the letters around? O-B-I-T-O. OblivionSoul has said that Tobi's mask has only one eye slit. Anyone read Kakashi Gaiden to find out what happened when Kakashi was younger? He, Ren and Obito were on a mission. Long story short, Obito was crushed by a boulder falling on the right side of his body. We figured that he died, only no one really knows. He told Ren to give Kakashi his left eye to replace the one Kakashi had recently lost, so that leaves him with one eye. Now, Ren tried to heal him, but we figure it doesn't work since everyone swears that Obito is dead. But here's the key question: What if Obito didn't die, and went into the Akatsuki?

I've noticed that Tobi's attitude is goofy, and that's how Obito acted when he was young. He was goofy, and it actually reminds me a little of how Naruto acts, but that's not really relevent. Kakashi didn't like teh way Obito acted and was always griping about how Obito liked doing things for others and making up excuses to be late. He also hated the way Obito didn't think things through. Well, when Tobi replaces Sasori as Deidara's partner, don't you see how annoyed Deidara gets with Tobi? I mean, once he's armless, Dei-kun tries to strange Tobi with his feet!! So can you see how it fits?

Another idea of ours is that Tobi is still Obito, but since Tobi has a more serious side, that he could have a split personality or he could have taken another soul into his body. Whose soul, you ask? Well, we believe it could be none other than Uchiha Madara. You'll have to get OblivionSoul to fill you in on all the Madara-Kyuubi conspiracy, as that's purely hers.

Obito was crushed by a boulder falling on the right side of his body.

If any of you saw a pic of Tobi without the akatsuki cloack you can see that he is wearing something like an armour. This can be the proof that Obito is alive and joined the Akatsuki as Tobi (his body was crushed, thus he is wearing armour to be able move, maybe he still couldnt heal himself) Plus Obito could have lost his memory during the Kakashi gaiden story when the rocks have crushed him. (this injury could have been posible because of the rock slide)
Besides: Obito had Orange gogles and a scarf
Tobi has an Orange mask and a scraf ^^

and it seems that tobi = Uchiha Madara

You never know, maybe Obito's eye was okay even after the rock crushed him... but if Tobi took off his mask, we'd probably see a very scarred up Obito(if it is him).

Tobito had been a posibility for a while, but as the manga progesses it seems less and less likely. There's an argument now that Tobi is Uchia Madara (though I completely disagree with this theory).

Since they never actually proved that Obito was dead and burried, only crushed by rocks (We've all seen people survive worse than this in Naruto. ^w^) it's possible that it is him. But to counter this, Obito seemed genuinely goofy, Tobi's personality is possibly all an act so that no one will know that he runs Akatsuki. Who would think that the idiot in the mask is the matermind? ^^;

I don't see why Madara would have been thrown up in the story randomly, I think it's more likely Tobi is Obito..

Like what Kajimori said, (*cough* with my theory *cough*) Madara could either be using Obito's body as a puppet or he is sharing the body with him.

Either way, I think he's trying to help Sasuke more than he is working within the Akatsuki.

I agree with Oblivion. Either way, both Obito and Madara were Uchihas, and they seem like a family that would stick together... well, unless your older brother 'murdered' the clan... I'm still not sure it was really Itachi that did it. Sure, he was an ANBU Black Ops captain when he was thirteen -which makes him more of a prodigy than Kakashi was at that age, being that Kakashi was only a Jounin at thirteen- but that still doesn't mean that he's infallable. Even if he can easily ward off mediocre jutsu, if something's more complex than his Sharingan can comprehend quickly, he could even be caught in a genjutsu. He has that kind of emotional mask that you never know what he could really be feeling. Did anyone ever think that either Itachi didn't do it, or if he did, he wasn't the mastermind behind it?
