Actually Naruto was going to kill him so the Raikiri was just thrown in to keep Zabuza from dying. All he needed was Sharingan and Kyuubi. And if you think about it Sasuke would have probably got Haku if He didn't have to Save Naruto and Naruto with his Kyuubi would have defeated him without Sasuke's Sharingan there.

So it goes either way.

Haku dies because he cared about Zabuza, Zabuza ultimately dies because he cared for Haku. They die. Zabuza is not coming back, he and Haku are prancing around together somewhere in the afterlife.

Haku was going to die either way so he decided to Keep Zabuza alive a little longer that way.
