Black and white or shades of grey?

But my opinion is to live in the shades of grey. I mean, it would suck to be negative all the time, and it would get tiring being positive all the time.

Yes the world is black and white.

There are always wrong choices, and there is the right choices.

There are absolute truths in the World. If you disagree with that, then you obviously can fly because the rest of us here all acknowledge the power of gravity.

There are wrong and right choices. They may seem hard to grasp but there are.

But there are those choices that weren't the best thing to choose, but yet they aren't bad.

take for example, war

As a soldier, you can purposely take away one's life. Defined, this is murder. But is it black and white?

There are exceptions to the black and white rule

Maybe, YOU need to live there.
But I live in a world where facts and logic are more important then what "Feels good" And in that world the world is black and white. ^_^

Note: Just because I think the world is black and white doesn't mean I think it's simple or that we all have to be perfect. Just that there is a right and wrong choice to make.

If a person were to live in a 3rd world country and never be exposed to Christianity or Judiasm, but lived a virtuous life, would they go to hell?

If a woman were to slap a fly out of anger and kill it, is that murder? Is it bad?

Also, bringing Titan's question into play: What about you? Would you sentence the woman for using the only means she had to feed her family?

The Bible says "Thou shalt Not murder" (Properly translated) Not "Thou shalt not kill" and if one recalls the Bible old testament was full of God telling the chosen people to genocide and massacre the tribes of the Pagan's that were in God's Holy Land. Why? Because they were killing. Not Murdering. That is why one time when a man plundered it lead to the death of about 30 people.

Now that is one of the age old questions (Not that it matters if they were exposed to Judaism at this point). God says he weighs there life based on their knowledge. I can't answer anymore then that though I have some theories.

Wow. Well I will let you know when the 11th Commandment said "Thou shall not slap flies". Considering flies are not "Lives" they are "Flies" then I don't see why one would care, if they killed it.

Here's the fact of the matter. I am not the judge. And that is good because I am sinful and quite arrogant. But, the perfect and all knowing judge will let you know. ^_^

Besides. We are all sinners. So if I were to judge her, I'd say she is no more or less perfect then I. However, isn't that why the almighty judge is also the merciful?

I do live there. Jeez, you think I'm pessimistic all the time? I'm not, I'm pretty neutral. I like to live in the shades of grey. But facts may be more stupid than emotions in some cases. I mean, you go by facts, and you won't realize that MAYBE if you had listened to your emotions, then MAYBE you would have avoided a sticky situation.

white lies: are they white or black or gray?

some people would say it's gray because you lie for the benefit of someone, out of good intentions.

but then again, it is still a lie no matter what. (unless i enter the philosophical thinking in which they state that you can lie and tell the truth at the same time) so that's the black.

the white would be because you've done it for the benefit and all the that positive reasoning they give.

personally, i think it's black. ^^;; because it's still a lie and lying is a negative thing to do and is labeled as a sin. not to say i've never lied, though. probably more than i could ever hope to remember. but that's it, it's still a lie no matter what.

What you are trying to say is by following facts sometimes you avoid following your gut however your gut relies on facts your thesis is wrong do over!

I think the world is complex, and no one not even me, Q the invincible and greatest Kazekage and amatuer animator and to have ever graced a website's presence and the almighty king of debates, knows everything but in a million choices or two simple ones there is what is right to do and there is what is wrong to do and sometimes yes there can be more then one right choice and sometimes their may seem like no right choices but in life it is a battle of black and whites and grey is just an illusionary concept created by black to winover the masses.

For the world, I find sometimes the test is not even yours, but someone else's challenge of black and whites and you the tester. And if you truely are not sure about what is right, have you tried praying?
