Re: Poetry Thread
-blushes-
i hate sharing but..
-deep breath-
others saw a joyful me, but beyond that i know you see.
the tear that escapes nobody can tell, inside i feel frozen hell.
your touch i feel, hoping every day it's real.
raining tears i cry alone, till' your love brings me back home.
somehow i know i'll be okay, if you just promise me, please stay?
if you leave i'll be dead inside, i'll replace my mask and continue to hide.

From the heart
Born of sorrow
Tears of joy
Placate the pen
Transmute the mind
Roll through meadows
Fall like snow
But always return
From whence it came
. . .
i know i bad in poetry...

Re: Poetry Thread
The first time I fell in love, I cried.
The next time I did it, I cried again.
Why is it that every time I fall in love
I always have to cry?
After all the hurting I felt
And after all those tears
I cried,
I've come up with a promise
That I'll never love someone that way again.
But one day I woke up
With a broken promise.
I wasn't able to accept the fact
Because I woke up one morning in love with you.
The next time I did it, I cried again.
Why is it that every time I fall in love
I always have to cry?
After all the hurting I felt
And after all those tears
I cried,
I've come up with a promise
That I'll never love someone that way again.
But one day I woke up
With a broken promise.
I wasn't able to accept the fact
Because I woke up one morning in love with you.

I have a poem, but it's fairly long...or really long (as poems of the non-epic variety go) and it doesn't rhyme.

Re: Poetry Thread
Fine fine I'll post it though I have warned you of it's length and should also probably warn that it's new and still undergoing the occasional edit. All the same, here ya go.
- Spoiler:
You: By Me
I met you once
and we exchanged a few words
nothing important though
nothing to remember me by
Me, unmemorable white guy
suffering from dizzy spells
and lacking any particularly attractive attributes
You, dark haired girl with shapely legs
and a penchant for environmental activism
You, asked me if I had a minute
for the environment of course
to which I responded too early,
for I failed to turn faster than my mouth could answer,
that I had given my minute to your friend already
(She too was attractive
enough so to play to my shallow nature
and I agreed to give money to your cause
simply for being allowed to look at her)
You, however, for you I'd do more
I'd empty my wallet
single-handedly push whales
back to the sea
and scrub oil from off an otter
so that you might say
"I found that one
my charms befuddled him into doing our work"
or that you might simply be impressed
at such devotion to a cause
You appeared content enough with my answer,
though I wish you'd implore me
to perhaps hear your pitch again
and tell you what I thought
and I could stand out in the rain with you
while I explained that it had been so good
that I wished to increase the amount
which to your organization I had already surrendered
and furthermore that I had been so moved by it
that I plan on being an activist
so that I may do my part to help the world
perhaps you'd have called me generous
or touted me as an example of how we could change the world
you may have even added "together" to the end of that
as if we were fated to do something incredible
you and I, chaining ourselves to trees
well into old age, just you and me
You offered no plea however
which caused me to stand there briefly
looking lost and confused by everything
which had just gone down
standing in the rain, already dizzy from illness unknown
we said a brief goodbye I believe
and I may have wished you success
secretly though, I was already forming plans
to bring you coffee, saying you seemed so cold
out there in the rain
and that it must be so dull with no one to speak to
save those to whom
you pitch your dreams of salvation for the environment
only to be ignored by the large percentage of them
and you'd say thanks and perhaps shuffle closer
and tell me why you got into this sort of thing
and I'd listen attentively
as is my way, taking mental notes
so that I could claim similar reasons for my newfound interest in the environment
in the hopes that you may be impressed and inquire as to if
"we can meet elsewhere" when you have more time on hand
to which I would most certainly agree
and I'd pick you up whenever and go wherever you pleased.
Me, or my body at the least however, made other plans
which involved me sleeping my dizziness off in the back seat of my car
for fear of being judged a drunkard
upon falling while stood still in the queue for coffee
or for the fear of pain I should incur in such a fall
so I rested,
though it should be noted only after convincing myself
that you may still be there when I awoke
you however, were missing upon my return
and the pamphlets which you had carried
lay discarded, soaking in the rain
and I despaired to picture you unhappy
your dream so cruelly discounted by the masses
so I plucked a few out and asked of others
if they had a minute
for the environment of course
You, are out there somewhere
and I wonder, do you have a minute
not for the environment,
but for someone who'd write all this of course.
