Thump,
the sound of a thug ninja crashing against the wall. Small pieces of brick fall
onto his head as he gasps for air. Two ninja stare at him with blank
expressions. He grunts and rises to his feet in anger. He lunges at them wildly
throwing punches, they two ninja dodge every strike and retaliate with
simultaneous blows to his ribs. The bone crunching sound echoes down the
alleyways close by. The thug coughs up blood and falls to his knees holding his
broken ribs. The two ninja glare at him and approach him slowly. He looks at
both of them with fear in his eyes. They hover over him as their bodies cascade
into darkness. The thug begins to panic and notices 2 pairs of glowing red eyes
and razor sharp teeth.
“AHHHHHH!”
The
street light slowly dims back over the thug ninja who is now dead. A gaping
hole in his chest bore through from front to back. The two silent ninja? Gone,
no trace of them left behind. As the dim gray sky turns light blue, and the sun
begins to rise, villagers of the glacier village arise to enjoy the start of a
new day. Glacier village never had much to do. They weren’t in any wars and
they mostly kept to themselves. They are led by Dei, a petite ninja who doesn’t
talk much. In her absence lately, Mikel has been using his Vice-kage powers to
keep the village safe and prosperous. Her disappearance lately was quite odd,
considering she has ruled the village since the beginning of WOTN. The
beautiful morning silence is broken by a scream that pierces each person’s
ears. They all rush towards the scream to see a women hovering over a dead
body. Her knees shaking. It was the dead thug ninja with the hole in his chest.
The lady covers her mouth and slowly faints. From the quickness, Mikel appears
and catches her, laying her safely on the ground. He scratches his head at the
sight of the body. He’s never had to deal with something like this before. All
the villagers stare at him diligently. He can feel their eyes affixed on him,
no choice but to turn around and say something to them.
“Uhhh,
Glacier Village citizens, don’t fear, it seems as though we’ve had an accident,
but I shall find out who did this as soon as possible. Return to your houses, I
will update you as soon as I found out more….That is all.”
The
villagers give him a look and shrug, at least someone is there to try and help.
They all begin to scramble away from the scene and Mikel is left standing there
with a blank face. No one ever dies in Glacier Village, something bad is
happening, he can feel it. Mikel picks up the dead body and lumps it over his
shoulder causing blood to drip on him. He sniffs the body and gags. Mikel
starts to walk back to the Hikage’s Domain. The Hikage lived in icy style, a
large mansion shaped like a cave, filled with unmeltable ice. Mikel slowly
enters the cave and his body is cascaded by the darkness.
“No…no.
please don’t, I’m just a merchant..NOOOOO!”
The
screams of the merchant are soon silenced as he drops to his knees spitting
blood. His eyes gaze upon two ninja who stand next to him laughing in unison.
They lift their legs and kick him together causing him to crash into the
nearest building. The shadows cover his lifeless body and the two ninja
disappear into the night.
Musky
morning air. Shadow Village, home of the worlds most famous anbu ninja, and the
Kurokage. This village was once led by a man of pure evil, Punkfilter, but he
mysteriously disappeared. It is now led by Deathy, a ninja who usually never
talks and is mostly seen with Dei of glacier village. The villagers walk around
as usual, nothing usually bothers them. One of the local merchants walks by an
alley and whiffs the smeel of death. Most villagers are used to the smell. This
smell was awkward though. He decides to enter the alleyway still covered by
shadow and search for the scent. HE accidentally trips over a lumpy object and
falls onto his face. As he gets up and wipes himself off, he notices the object
he tripped over was the body. It was his dear friend. The merchant screams
help. His pleas go unheard, most ninja in the shadow village ignore the cries
for help. As the merchant screams and screams, his voice slowly diminished in
stature. As he begins to quiet down a few ninja surround him. He looks at them
with fear and covers his body as if ready to protect himself. The ninja grab
him by the arms and a few other grab the dead corpse and disappear.
They all
re-appear inside a small square room. The ninja were none other than anbu. The
merchant’s face was covered in happiness as he was relieved. The anbu ninja
circle around him. He starts to get nervous and notices his hands were tied up.
The anbu ninja close in on him and begin to slap him around. The merchants
saliva flies everywhere and blood trickles down his chin and drips onto the
floor. He starts to whimper and tears fill his eyes. The anbu all laugh at him
and lift up his chin. They wipe away his tears and the only door to the room
flies open. ON the other side stands a ninja with his foot in the air lowering
it back down. His name was KOB. KOB was the vice-kage of shadow village. No one
knew his real name, he’s gone by that alias for as long as anyone can remember.
KOB was in charge of Shadow village after Deathy mysteriously disappeared. KOB
was also the head captain of the anbu ninja. He walks into the room hands
behind him back snickering at the merchant who is helpless. He approaches some
of the anbu and whispers to them. They nod and flee from the room quickly. KOB
approaches the merchant and squats down to his level.
“It
seems as though you were found with a dead body? Can we assume it’s you? Do I
have to investigate? Will you tell me everything?”
The
merchant nods and begins to tell his story. Minutes pass by quickly and KOB
nods a few times and adjusts his position. The story goes on for about 15
minutes before the merchant closes his mouth. KOB rises from the chair he sat
on a few minutes ago and lifted the merchant to his feet. He releases the
restraints and tells him to get out of here. The merchant gladly obliges and
runs from the room quickly. KOB slams his fist on the table. This is the third
death in the past week. Something is going on. He must find the Kurokage soon.
Things are quickly getting worse.
“S-sir!
We have news on the mysterious ninja!”
KOB
looks at the anbu and motions for him to tell his story. Minutes go by and KOB
becomes intrigued. He shoos away the anbu ninja and walks to the closet in his
office. He opens it to reveal many ninja tools and gear.
“It’s
about time these two ninja are laid to rest.”
KOB
grabs his light mesh armor and throws it on, he buckles on kunai and shuriken
holsters as well as a katana on his back. He ties his headband tightly around
his arm and throws on the anbu leader mask. KOB closes the closet and jumps
through the open window into the shadows of the town. KOB begins running at a
lightning pace. He creeps from shadow to shadow remaining hidden to everyone.
As he nears the gates, he sees a ninja waiting there, and it seems a though the
ninja is staring right at him. KOB approaches quickly with caution, he intends
to blur right past him. HE closes in…stopped. The ninja wrings his arm around
KOB’s throat and drags him off into the side. KOB kicks himself out of the choke
and pulls out two kunai ready to fight.
“Do not
fear KOB, I’m here to help you, I received word as well about the location of
the two killer ninja.”
KOB
lowers his weapons and shakes the hand of his new partner. IT is none other
than Mikel. KOB approaches him and shakes his hand scratching his head at the
same time. Both Mikel and KOB nod at each other and race off into the dense
forest.
After a
few hours of traveling, Mikel and KOB come to a halt. A chill runs down their
spines. They look at each other and proceed cautiously into an abandoned
warehouse. The door seemed to be open. The darkness inside wasn’t normal for
some reason. As they enter, the doors slam shut behind them and dim lights
flicker on. KOB quickly spins around looking into the darkness, Mikel seems to
just stand there.
“Well hello you two? Don’t
make this difficult for me and KOB here, just come back to the villages with us
so we can help you.”
“We don’t
think so. You can’t possibly stop us. And this is a rare time indeed. We are
actually talking. Now watch as we kill you two as well.” Shouts Dei and Deathy.
Two
shadows leap down from an overhanging to match looks with Mikel and KOB. The
staredown builds up as the temperature begins to drop to freezing. KOB begins
to shiver as Mikel readies himself. KOB fights through the cold and lowers into
a defensive stance, he knew he couldn’t fight in such harsh conditions. Deathy
and Dei look at each other and wink. They intertwine their fingers and smirk
while rushing at the two ninja. As they quickly approach, KOB grabs Mikel and
pulls him down into a shadow puddle. Dei and Deathy fly past the shadow puddle
and laugh maniacally. They walk back and hover over the puddle of shadow. Deathy
slips her free hand in and her body begins to glow a certain color, she laughs
and pulls out her hand quickly throwing Mikel and KOB into the air. Dei looks
up and shoots her free hand up at them shooting icicles at them. Mikel shakes
off the daze of the throw and looks at the impending icicles approaching them.
He moves his body in front of KOB and waves his hands at the icicles causing
them to slow down and fall to the floor. Dei and Deathy yawn and look at each
other. As KOB and Mikel fall to the ground they struggle to get up. The immense
spiritual pressure from Dei and Deathy combined is more than enough to keep
them on their knees. The next thing witnessed was a sight that’s not meant to
be seen by anyone. Dei and Deathy look at each other and kiss?! KOB and Mikel’s
eyes bug out as they ponder as to what had just happened. Dei and Deathy now
look back at them and smirk, their eyes glow red and they disappear. Mikel and
KOB look around but no prevail the two have disappeared. The temperature begins
to return to normal and the thick blanket of darkness slowly recedes leaving
only the two vice-kages. Even though it seems the kages disappeared, Mikel and
KOB still can’t get up. Then it clicked, they were trapped inside a genjutsu,
how could they be so foolish as to be caught in something like this.
The
laughter of Dei and Deathy echoes throughout the room as the walls begin to
melt. Slowly, the entire place diminishes as the two struggling ninja are left
in a blank white space. Arrows made of ice and hands of shadow rush at them
from every direction. It was only a matter of time before their lives were
ended. Someone has to stop these two soon….
