Darfur Genocide

In Darfur many people are struggling for survival as they are killed by Janjaweed. Little girls and women are raped and risk getting raped by these janjaweed just going to go get firewood to help feed their families. Many Darfur people are killed.
The only reason Darfurian people are being killed by the Janjaweed is because of the oil and water sources on their land. Now they live in refugee camps surrounded by the Janjaweeds. These poor people need help. We can help them. At my school we've started a club called Buffalo for Africa. I figured someone might be interested in the Genocide of Darfur so I thought i should post this.

For those of you who have an account on myYearbook (and those who don't can go to www.myyearbook.com) On there you make this currency called "lunch money". Now, you can do all sorts of stuff with 'lunch money' or LM for short. One of the things you can do is donate to causes which include the fight against AIDS, cancer research, and saving the rainforest. Also, they have one to help stop genocide in Sudan-Darfur.

Also about two years back, there was a CD collaboration made by various artists called "The National Amnesty To Save Darfur" or soemthing of the sort. The Green Day hit Working Class Hero, which is a cover of John Lennon's song of the same title, was derived from this album. Proceeds go to help fight against the genocide.

Also I think there is an organization called Shadow Children to help the children in Darfur. At least, I belive that's how that goes. Maybe I'm wrong. I also think that it was created by the band Fall Out Boy.

It really is horrible, isn't it? The blood diamonds were sad as well. I hope one day Earth can abolish genocide. Though I doubt it will happen, I'll keep being hopeful ;D

why don't we send them some canned food.

Isn't that already being done?

Most of the time when you send them food it only ends up in the coffers of the oppressive regime instead of the people.

A lot of genocides come along after a regime takes away the ability of private citizens to own guns. If anyone was interested. You weren't, but oh well.

I loved learning about the genocides. 'Twas sad.
Totally beats learning about the Civil War battles.

We're starting that next week >.>;;; Hope we don't spend two months on it like the Revolutionary War.

But we don't exactly have two months left of the school year so... more like 26 days :D

I liked the Civil War. It sure beats learning about the struggle of high classes and low classes. Boring.

Bleh. But when they're making the whole issue about women and racism it gets boring.
At the end of every flipping chapter, they start talking about the development of suffrage and stuff.

Deathy: All they've been talking about is the presidents lately. They all had very different personalities. Which made it kind of interesting :P Except I dislike Andrew Jackson for the Indian Removal Act.

Andrew Jackson was amazingly colorful. He's probably my favorite psycho president.

the only reason women can vote is because guys lost their minds when prohibition ended. Realizing the mistake they did, the guys repealed prohibition to drown their sorrows.

Why glary face? I am not saying women shouldn't vote. I am saying hearing the 'struggles' women faced is a lameness. Like in the World War sections they talked about women struggling at home as if it was the same as the men in war. No! Difference!

Andrew Jackson is one of my least favorite presidents.

The funny thing is the whole Women's voting idea didn't even matter. Elections stayed a lot the same.
