Wish blinked her eyes to the bliding sun coming in through her window on the left of her bed. Her black sheets covering her face until her startling alarm went off beeping into her ear, even though it was inches away from her. Her black hair sticking to the back of her neck as she lifted her head and shielding her eyes from the blazing sun again. She swung her feet over the side of her bed and stood up quickly, tripping slightly over her slippers. Wish went over to the bathroom and started to take a shower, making sure that she had everything she needs before she came out and forgets anything like the time she had before. Wish grabbed her backpack and keys off the counter and opened the front door. She closed it slowly behind her looking at a package on her front step. Wish thought for a moment and didn't have time to really go back inside, so she picked up the small square shaped package and lifted it up under her arm and raced off towards her school.
As Wish crossed paths toward the dirt road, she looked across a clearing and only saw a faint outlining of a house. It looked pretty big and she'd seen it every day. It wasn't really her business, but she had been very curious. Wish shrugged her shoulders and started to run again towards her school, hoping she wasn't late.
Wish walked slowly to the front doors of her high school; Grayson May High, and looked down at her package between her underarm. She really wanted to see what it was. And she did have about 15 minutes to spare, seeing her alarm clock was set ahead. Seeing she didn't remember doing it, she only pushed the thought from her mind. Wish sat in the stairs railing and watched as some popular girls giggled about guys, and how they loved eachothers make up. Wish jut stared at them until one looked her way and rolled her eyes. Which, caused Wish to turn around embarrassed and stare back at the package on her lap. She unwrapped the brown paper and looked at the white box inside. Wish opened the side of it, struggling with the tape, and found a note with money (Alot of money.). Also there was a silver dagger with a snake corssing over a rose and staring up at the point of the dagger. Wish's eyes widened and started to read the note:
Dear Wish,
We havn't been in contact but we want to send out love. Ever since your mother died we didn't know how to tell you. But we finally think it is time. Back when your mother was alive, she had a job that depended on keeping out family safe. See, your mother was a vampire hunter. I know you must think that we are old people and that we are crazy. But dear Wish, you have to know that this is serious. Your grandfather and I can't do it anymore because we retired and your mother had taken on the job. We have been doing this job for over 150 years and its a family tradition. And now we pass it on to you. Keep up the work in school and be safe. Remember that the dagger here is one of a kind. All you have to do is hold it to a vampires chest, and if that dosn't work, stab them anywhere on there body. It will burn them to ashes.

Wish laughed to herself but couldn't help to be intrested. She did like hearing about vampires, they were her favorite things to study. Besides demons and wearwolves, and angles too. She loved legends and tales about them. Always something different to learn. She even hoped one day to meet one. Mainly thinking about her back-in-the-day, seeing torches and giant forks everywhere, people getting ready to go out and look for the blood suckers. She places the note back in the package and the dagger in too. She had 3minutes left before the bell rang, so Wish went to her locker and stuffed the package inside of it. She took out her textbooks first for math and science then walked back outside into the warming sun.
Wish walked down the first steps and stopped because someone had called her name. She looked to her left and saw Haley Mace;One of the cheerleaders. Wish just looked at her as Haley smiled brightly, a fake, bright smile. Meaning she had something wicked up her sleeve. She hopped over to Wish and wrapped her arm around her shoulders. Wish pulled her wrist and swung it away then walked down the steps. Haley caught up to her and started to talk to Wish like she was 'trying' to be nice. "Hey Wish! What's going on with you mutant?" Wish only blinked and moved herself into a different comfortable position. "Well, we were wondering, my friends and I, if you want to hang with us at lunch today." She shook her head and started to walk away again from Haley. Haley grabbed her shoulder and spun her back around. "Come on Wishbone, it wont be that bad." Wish frowned slightly and shook her head more faster then before, then pulled away roughly. Haley growled to herself then stormed back over to her friends.
After school, Wish left her package at school and it was getting pretty late. Wish stopped in the middle of her dirt road and decided that should would go back anyway. The school had a reputation of getting broken into and things being stolen. She really didn't want that to happen, and knowing that she had just got it she really didn't want to take a chance in loosing it. She walked through a path, watching the sunset in the distance setting. She saw the mansion again and stopped because something surprised her. Seeing someone actually come out of the house and walking down thier dirt path. She didnt havnt much time to say hi, the school won't let her in past 8:00 and it was already 7:36.
Wish only got the dagger, the money and the note. She through the box and paper out so she would'nt have to carry much. She stuck everything in her pockets and started back to her house. It was about 8:30 and she had left the school, so it was really dark outside. But to her the dark was amazing. So many magical things happening that you really can't see during the day. The beautiful stars, the bright white moon glowing in the sky, and the cute nocturnal animals coming out to feast or just roam around from there places in trees, or underground.
As she walked her path to her small home, taking her time, enjoying the breezey wind, she saw it again. A person walking around the mansion. She stopped to watch until it turned around staring at her. She jumped a little and turned her head walking away embarrassed. She blinked a couple times then shook her head pushing aside the blank feelings she was having. But when she turned ahead there it was. That black figure standing in her path. She could see the eyes so clearly, hear the rough breathig it was giving off.
Wish stepped back slowly, seeing that the figure only stood there looking at her intensly. She could make it out perfectly. Dark black hair coming down to where his chin was, curving over his eyes, which were a beautiful violet. *Contacts? They must be. No one else's eyes could be that way. I wonder where he got them. They are so gorgeous.* She looked into his eyes, not knowing that he was moving closer to her. Only after he was about 10ft away from her. She jumped and landed on her butt, closing her eyes from the shocking pain traveling up her body. "Idiotic human. Can't even stand 10minutes without falling on your ass, or being a clutz." The only thing that Wish was staring at, was his teeth. *They are so sharp. Like...a vampire...No, no, no way. They aren't realy. He could've went to the dentist and do that. Lots of people do. Wait, did he just say idiotic 'human.' Why would he call me human when he's clearly-* Wish widened her eyes and scooted back. The boy looked about 17, and he was not human. "A vampire." Wish got up started to run the way that she came from school.
Instead of running the path directly to school, she crossed into the woods. *What am I thinking?! The woods?! Im so stupid." She almost tripped over a root but kept sprinting. Good thing she was on the track team. She just had that 'gift' for running. She jumped over logs and branches crashed on the floor from the heavy raining and weather. She stopped immediatly when she saw him infront of her. She backed up, not noticing a branch behind and tripped again. He came closed and into the moon light, his violet eyes shining with hatred for her. "You are going to die out here." He said snidely. Wish shook her head frantically but didn't cry. She hasn't cried for two years and she wasn't about to start for some vampire. *This is what I get for wanting to meet one. Well mom...I have my dream wish.* "You always wanted to meet a vampire? What kinda stupid human are you?" He said chuckling.
Wish frowned and gave him the finger. He obviously didn't like that and tried grabbing her by the neck quickly. But it was another one of those 'gifts' she has with speed. She flipped back and looked at him. He looked pissed. "How the hell did you do that?" Wish shrugged but moved back. He rushed over to her with max speed and she didn't see him this time. He punched her in the stomach and she fell to the ground on her side. She coughed for a second, her hair fallen in her face. She pushed her body against a tree and looked at the vampire. He grabbed her by the neck this time and lifted her up. He looked at her eyes and tilted his head. "Red eyes? Your an odd one." Wish struggled for air. Then she finally remebered the dagger. She barely reached her pocket so shehad to push up her knee and reach again. "What are you doing?" She didn't even look at him so he shook her. She looked at im and mouthed (~ This means her mouthing, okay?)~I'm sorry.~ He frowned and she stuck the dagger in his chest.
Wish was dropped and she stepped back from him. She could see him trying to grab the knife but it burned his hands and it was too painful. She looked away as he was screaming and he dropped to his knees. She could'nt take it anymore and she reached to get it. But he showed his teeth to her and she flinched away. She saw that he was starting to burn and she reahced for it again. Even thought he snapped at her again she pulled it out quickly. He screamed in pain and panted while on his hands and knees. She got up and looked down at him as she backed away. He looked at her slowly then dropped to the ground. *Is he dead?* She walked up to him and knelt down besode him. She couldn't help but blush when she turned him over. *He's so gorgeous.* She slowly ran her hands on his face. She looked at his chest moving slowly up and down.
Wish went to look at the slit that she made when she stabbed him. But then he sprang back up and bit her on the neck hard. She wanted to scream but being mute for 2 years she couldn't find her voice. Her eyes only went big as she felt the teeth sink more into her skin, ripping away at her neck. Then she felt him release and crash back down unconcious again. Her body trembled as she touched the mark. It burned so badly and she kept in her tears. Her stomach turned and she looked at her skin going pale. Her eye sight started to go blurry until they felt like they zoomed in and she could see the road. She closed her eyes quickly. She pushed herself up on a tree, facing it. She grabbed her head because of the throbbing. Her mouth felt like it was pulling her teeth out but force. As she opened her mouth, two fangs appeared. Wish didn't believe what was happening to her. She punched a tree and it split in two.
When she felt normal again, she stood up straight and felt taller. She looked down at the vampire and knew she couldn't leave him out in the woods, where the sun could get him. She picked him up fairly easy. *Wow...* She flung him over her shoulder and started to walk but then she was at the road already. *What's happened to me.* She took another step and she was home. *I gotta control this.* She tooka deep breath a took a step on one stair. She did it again and continued the pattern until she was up in her room. She layed the vampire on the bed collasped onto the floor by her door. Then she felt a pain again and saw her skin go back to normal. Her mouth went tugging again and her fangs dissapeared. Her eyesight went back to normal and her body felt like shrinknig. *Why am I doing this?*
