Anime and Live Action are here~

I know we've talked about this before, but I just learned that apparently Ghost In The Shell already has a movie on the rolls, and another Anime called Akira is getting made too and will be out in a few years.

Also Warner has the above mentioned Akira, Bleach, and Deathnote. Warner Bros seems to be jumping the curve on this Anime and Manga stuff, and good for it.

So what do you guys think?

From what I recall last time this came up it was right after Avater the last Air bender, and it was done pitifully. No question. So most people seemed to be rather against the idea. Believing it'll be corrupting good stories for cheap entertainment.

I'll admit I was more optimistic about it all before I saw Avatar The Last Airbender.

on a playful side, those are fine cause they provide comedy. on the serious side, shit. let's leave it at that.

O-o Akira was awesome. I think that would be interesting to pull off...

As far as live action anime, that would depend entirely. Some of them just... don't do it very well. The Prince of Tennis Live Action had them jumping into the air like they were DBZ characters.

I haven't been interested in live action, too much. It usually ruins the concept of the anime for me, or is a lot more different than what I expect. The worst is when they make huge changes (especially with the characters) or leave out what seems like an integral part of the story.
I saw Deathnote live-action though, and I liked it enought to want to see the second one.
I heard the DBZ live action was pretty fail.

Not at all. ^^ It's too fantastical to be able to be done well, I think. That mixed with origins of a different culture... Yeah, too much for all but the strongest of movie makers.

looked up the DBZ trailer. yeah, definitely a huge fail.

i think thats a rly terrible idea.trying to pull off GOTS..hm idk about Bleach*rly i'd slap them in the face wit a fan like in Brawl :P*.I have no clue about Akira since i never seen it.but DN has already been pulled off in live action so it don't matter if the movie companies do a movie on that to me it'd just be a waste of time, film & mula.

I saw part of the first one, and it was towards the end. It was corny, I think, but not bad action-wise. Definitely B movie material. I wouldn't mind seeing it some night when I'm sitting around doing nothing.

Ghost in the shell, if done correctly, has potential. Bleach?? Not so much.

i think its fun that they make movies out of the animes. :D

Live action movies would be done by Hollywood, not the ones that usually make Japanese live action movies, which makes a big difference in possible quality. Japanese studios wouldn't be able to make a movie as good as Hollywood can. Bleach would be fairly easy for them to do.

Live action Bleach would be HILARIOUS. Or amazing.

Bleach will either be a fail or turn out good.

I think I could write the script of a GOOD live Action Bleach. I have thought about how to do it before.
