Egyptian Gods/Goddesses

THIS IS NOT A TOPIC FOR A RELIGIOUS DEBATE. THANK YOU.

Okay so lately I've been interested in Egyptian history and such (like the gods and goddesses and pyramids and King Tut and stuff). At any rate, I was wondering what some of you guys thought about the gods and goddesses that the Ancient Egyptian people worshipped (sp?), and which one may be your favorite.

Like I said before THIS IS NOT TO DEBATE ABOUT RELIGION.

I thought the sphinx was always cool looking. I'd like to see it in real life someday.

I think it was actually a good idea she put in the sans-religion thing in, since I can imagine ama coming in and starting one

I'm with NF-K though; greek gods kick ass :P Seth is a cool egyptian god, though

Imhotep was a cool person in Egyptian history. He wasn't a God, but he designed the Step Pyramid I believe. he was an amazing engineer.

No one else likes the Sphinx? Drat.

I wish that they could find the tomb of Osiris. There's a cool legend behind it all too.

Q: Was the sphinx a god? I don't know much about it, other than it was built in one of the Ramses rules (I think) and that it has the head of a man and the body of a lion.

The sphinx was a symbolic representation of the living pharaoh and the earthly reincarnation of the god Atum. The lion was the symbol of supreme power and the pharaoh, associating himself with such a symbol, would preserve his ka and ensure serenity after death.
There's also a greek sphinx but instead of being apparently benevolent and revered, like the egyptian one, it was supposed to be frightening and cruel.

I do like the sphinx. Mt favorite god or goddess?? Nut.

the sphinx in greek mythology would ask a riddle to some person. Google it if you want to know more.

And if you got the riddle wrong - it would devour you...

I think the Greek gods were pretty awesome as well. Like Eros

I liked Artemis for greek goddesses.

But I prefer Egyptian gods/goddesses.

I don't know much about greek mythology. I do know the story of Persephone by heart almost though.

The pandora one holds my interest the most.

And that one girl (can't think of her name) who got her her tongue pulled out or something.
