I first picked up her books in 8th grade with the giver..then picked her other books this year.

I first picked up her books in 8th grade with the giver..then picked her other books this year.

I read The Giver in 5th grade o.O;; I can't remember a thing, all I remember was color and climate control, along with some memories. But it was good nonetheless!

When I first made this thread people complained that it was too much like book you are reading now thread.

Actially, I loved The Giver. It was written extremely well! Though Gathering Blue put me to sleep. >_>

we read it in sixth grade and it was one of the worst books of my life. it was so predictable.

and A Catcher in the Rye. hated that book too. xP
my teacher gave me a D on my essay about why A Catcher in the Rye is infantile and just proves that Holden needs to go see a doctor, because she loves the book. DDx (i got an A in the end, no worries. :D)

but, his quotes were funny. ^.^

And the Uglies series. those were the worst.

A Long Way Home was pretty mind-numbing too, until you got to the war and killing part.

Lyrical Ballads... not exactly a book, but a collection of poetry..

Wordsworth and Coleridge... romantics... awful stuff.

They basically believed you didn't need to go to school or work, you could sit in a field all day and learn that way... hm, sure. If only that actually worked ¬_¬

I liked the Uglies/Pretties/Specials/Extras series o.O

I agree with MissKat, Catcher in the Rye sucked like no other.

there was some crappy french books I have read for school, I can't remember them though

hell phone was a really weird book. i didn't really like it.

I did not enjoy The Sound and the Fury one bit because it was written in the stream of consciousness style. It was difficult to understand what was going on.

Poisonwood Bible, or possibly that stupid book on Gay Marriage I had to read for class. (Which I only read like....20 pages of at most)

I also didn't like Heart of Darkness mainly because the writing was just so dense. I had to read between the lines too much.

The fact that he wrote literally page after page as all one big paragraph didn't make it very fun, either.
