Can someone help me? pwease? <3 [said help still needed]

I'm writing a fictional story in which there is a charge of rape.

Problem: I don't know anything about court or how it works. I tried searching net, but I could not find any general information.

Some things I'd need to know:
-How long would a rape case take to get to court
-What happens before the trial
-How the proceedings would go
-The participation needed from the victim
-EVERYTHING about how the court works. I'm a idiot.

I'd greatly appreciate any help I can get

A lot of things kinda depend on the particular case.

And how busy the courts are in that particular area.

Case is a young boy who claims to have been raped by another boy who is also a minor.

The setting is a small, quiet town, so courts wouldn't be too busy.

you need evidence, witnesses or something like that, lawyers. I know more but cant think of anymore. ^^

i have been in court for that charge(which was way false)

it took about 3 months to get the trial going.

3 months...that would fit perfectly into the timeline I had in mind :P I'll have to check that out. Too bad I won't be able to get into the library until Monday...

That book was aweful ^_^

It was alright. At least it gave me a basic idea of how a court work >_> Before I read that book I thought you went to court and spent the entire time listening to the judge yell at you.

no, i'm not a rapist, especially since i was in 7th grade at the time.
she was insane! it turns out that she was still a virgin when the trial started.

then she got raped by her stepdad a week after the trial was done.

she had a test that ended it, then she said it a week later

Yikes, that's seriously messed up o.o There are quite a few cases out there of child-on-child rape...I didn't even know such a thing existed until I started writing this story.
