Camera Type Opinions?

I assume this topic will die fast, but

my mom's letting me get a good camera, not the crappy thin pretty types, the bulky ugly ones that take amazimg pics. :D

and im kinda in a bind on whitch to choose. they all even out, but the styles are way different. which looks more.. cooler/appealing?

in my own opinion, i like the olympus and fujifilm the most.

I personally like Fuji film the best... but it's your choice...

also with the nikon you get more zoom capabilities

the fuji is the weakest of them all trust me

I agree Fuji ish weak

dont go by looks on this the fuji will be a waste of good money

not to mention the fuji is easier to drop and looks really cheap

you see, the thing with nikon and canon, are that i dont really care for their material.

earlier i was testing out this canon one, and it looked like i could break off the lense with my pinkie, not to metion the pictures were not as clear as it promised, and the nikons are sort of heavy and have the same problem with lenses.

today i almost bought the fujifilm, but they were out of stock.

what i like about the olympus is that the pictures are extreamly clear, and it has an outragous zoom level, but its hella expensive compared to the rest, although id imagine its worth the price.

plus with fujifilm its a little more basic so i wont confuse myself as much as i would with a canon. the canon's have so many things you have to adjust before taking the picture, and it would get kind of frustraighting and the people would probably get tired of standing there.

I used to be really big with photography, and I bought a heck load of cameras, almost all the different brands they are...

Olympus IS very much worth the price, but it's more for professionals than amatures, and I'd recomend going for a slightly basic one until you feel you NEED to upgrade.

Canon is annoying as heck, sure, there are tons of different settings, but each setting only works specificially, and it's just so annoying you want to tear out your hair.

Nikon... Just no. I really hate my Nikon... So much...

With Fujifilm, not only is it cheaper, but it's simpler, and the settings work better in different places, it has a wider range of like... um.... just a wider range, to put it simply... So I would go with the Fuji.

but actually its great that im gettingsome feedback, it makes me think twice about the fujifilm, that goes back to the bottom of the list.

some others in the possibility range were sony and leica. but leica cameras are kinda.. over budget. the range from 1,000 - 3,500 dollars. D:

Leica cameras are completely worth the money though. They are amazing.

I have a very specific photography style, and Nikon just annoys the crap out of me.

yeah if you could afford that it would be awesome i like some of sonys cameras there jsut alot for them there interesting im going to get a sony one day jsut for quick shots

i have had a load of experiance with cameras. of done science fair projects on them, and i've researched them ALOT, i'm definatly not an amature with these. this coming year im taking atleast two courses with photography, and i plan on possibly making it a college thing.

but i've deffinatly looked at fujifilm and olympus the most.

then that may have been the prob for most styles they work with no probs

In that case, I would recommend the Olympus. Fujifilm is great for beginners, and some more advanced photographers enjoy them, but Olympus is a great brand, the cameras are beautiful. I wish you luck choosing.
