There is a good chance that Tobi is Uchiha Madara. First of all, there are all the hints and clues that Madara is still alive. In the manga, Itachi said that Madara had helped him kill his clan. He had also said that Madara is just a shell of his former self. This would explain why Deidara could kick him around alot, even though we just saw that Tobi had Sharingan. And if Tobi really is Madara, than that would mean he is the real leader of the Akatsuki, like all those 'crack theories' say. According to Itachi Madara was the person who started the Akatsuki. I love coming up with these theory things.

Well we know resurections in naruto are fesable via, chiyo reviving gaara, orochimaru summoning the 1st and 2nd hokages even if they weren't the same people, but then we don't know anything about Tobi/madara. And we've also seen countless imortality abilities... hidan, orochimaru, sasori, kakuzu (in a way). So yea... we won't know until kishi decides to include the main character in the current chapters.

obito was crushed under a large boulder in some country no one cares about in a forest no one knows

they said the village was near the hidden village of grass which is where zetsu was originally from, and tobi was 1st seen as zetsu's subordinate, beside maybe for some reason madara needed an uchiha body to inhabit and decided to use one that was crush under a boulder :[ im probably wrong but at this point there is a possibilty with all the jutsus kishi made.
