DSi (the DS standing for Dual Screen) is a product from Nintendo as an advanced version of the Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Game Boy SP, and other such models. It has wireless access allowing people to play games through wireless routers across the planet, through means of friend codes (in most games, anyway). Imagine playing a Pokemon match against someone on the other side of the planet? Always fun.
There's other features, such as the pictochat, which I personally find useless, as it only works within a certain range, unless the newer models (DS Lite, DSi, or 3DS) managed to change that. Most people use it for animations, but meh.
It also has wireless access through various cards that use the Opera Web Browser to navigate the web. I think there are even special cartridges that act as RAM, or a Hard Drive, but I can't be for certain.
The newer models also act as a camera. In time, I personally think Nintendo is trying to make them into a handheld gaming system similar to the cell phone.
