    Twilight Rant~

    Post by sabaku no ketsueki

    It's not what you think.

    I bet it's not.

Recently, thought the Twilgiht phase has mostly passed, I've been thinking about it. Me, personally, I liked the series. I didn't go all nut-job crazy over it, but I did enjoy it. At first, I was addicted, but it waned after a while. Now, I hang around people who like it and who...don't like it, to say the least. And of the two groups, the people who don't like it are the most annoying.

Why? Because most of the time, they haven't even read the damn book. It's either "It's a girl book and therefore I don't like it", or "I'm gonna be cool and non-conformist and say I don't like it." People who say they don't like something before actually experiencing it for themselves are lame. They let what other people think become their opinion. And geez! You wouldn't say a video game is awesome if you've never played it before. Why say a book is bad if you haven't fricken' read it?

What is also annoying is whenever me or one of my friends mention it, the people who don't like it start spazzing out. I'll say "Oh yeah, that reminds me of Twilight," and somebody will start yelling "OMG STOP FANGIRLING OVER TWILIGHT!!!!!!!!11111111111111"

And my first thought is, what the HELL is your problem?

And I just LOVE Youtube. You'll go online to watch a trailer or listen to the soundtrack for the movie or something, and in the comments are a bunch of people who just say how much they detest Twilight. If you hate it so much, why are you watching this video, much less commenting on it?

In general the people who don't like it bitch and complain more than the fans freak out over it. If you don't like it for whatever reason, and you feel you MUST say something, be calm about it. I mean, seriously. No need to freak out.

If you don't like it, fine. Just READ it before you form an opinion, for goodness sake.

    I wanted to like it!

My friend got into it before the 'hype' happened, like years before the hype I swear .-.

And cause I love vampire stories, I read the first book.. my goodness I disliked it almost after the first 3 chapters xD

Then the fans started on about how it was better than Anne Rice.. ohhhh then shit got ugly!

And tis why I despise twihards.. but the spoofs on youtube are hilarious XD

Hehe! This guy is my favorite Twilight spoofer.

But actually, I agree with most of what you said. I watched the movie. I disliked it. But that's it. I don't really care much about it.

But it's just like how everyone is in love with some really dark and weird movies just cause it's dark and weird. Or how people are against One Piece cause it's long! (Bad example thar but I don't care).

I don't think much one way of Twilight or another, but most of what you said makes sense to me.

I liked Twilight before the hype. I hang out with people who like Twilight, and who don't like it. Honestly... the people who like it are more annoying. o-o; All they ever talk about is Twilight, and if I say "Vampires are getting conform" or "Vampires are too common, it's getting annoying" or something to that extent, they do in fact freak out on me.

I neither like nor dislike Twilight. If I'm bored, I'll read it or watch the movies. But the fangirls do get on my nerves, just like every other fangirl. Unless they're Mad Hatter fangirls. Coz I'm a huge fan of the Mad Hatter (from the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland I might add)

    Question! Question!
Why would it matter if Vampires were getting conform?

I would quite like it if Pirates were totally conform! And everyone wore strawhats to school and we all sung the One Piece Pledge of Allegiance, which is something like:

    Got go got go!

Dreaming! Don't be giving up Luffy! Dreaming! Don't be giving up Zoro! Dreaming! Don't be giving up Nami! Dreaming! Don't be give give it up give it up give it OH!

    Here's how the story goes...

Etc. If you know where I stole that from, kudos ^_^

But yeah, the more people who like my stuff, the better! I wish I knew more people who liked Anime. Though I will say people totally killed Vampires. I miss the evil vampire. Not the "cool" or "sexy" ones. But the evil ones that hung out in alleys and grabbed girls!

XD aww, from what i've experienced... i dislike the ones who are over obsessed XD yesh. too obsessed, addicted. those who like it are fine. XD those who dislike it are better (cause most i know don't like it already watched or read it) XD i don't do much anything about it but say IT'S UGLY then i got eat XD

i just really dislike twilight D: though i did read all four books just because i had the slightest hope it might have gotten better by the end but the last book totally butchered the already butchered XD :< i wanted a good vampire book though

but i guess what really made me dislike it is meyer's way of writing D: it's not flattering for a novel writer. XD and how she destroyed vampire image forever XD XD lmao.
    SPARKLY VAMPIRES DDDDDDDDDDD: noooooooooooooooooooooo XD

I read the first and second book and then stopped =/ Mostly because Stephanie Meyer can't hold a candle next to some of my favorite authors and when I compare her work to theirs, it kinda makes me a little angry that she can make all that money over Twilight and they make less over their absolutely astounding stories.

It's not that it's terrible, it just isn't good enough to warrant all that attention people give it. In my opinion, anyway. I never hear so much fuss over David Morell and Iris Johansen and Khaled Hosseini, John Ringo.

But, I suppose, I can't stop it so I just ignore it. I suppose, Twilight just appealed to teens.

@ Q: One Piece!! xP Theme song.

Correct! Of course it's the One Piece Rap, aka the dub theme song (Aka nothing at all related to teh series) but who's being picky! ^_^

...Although one of my favourite authors is JK Rowling... who stole most of her plots/character ideas from other books... but hey, you gotta love Harry Potter XD

I'd like it too if pirates got conform. Pirates of the Caribbean, One Piece... and stuff.

Vampires... should stick to things like Anne Rice books and Dracula status.

In the movie New Moon, Alice tells Bella that she'll come back once she "puts the dog out" referring to Jacob. It's really not that funny, but the whole theater laughed probably because Alice said it. I think that someone could have come up with something more clever than that. That's all. Put some cleverness into the books and movies, and then I'd like it more.

Clair: Yeah it's a good idea! I mean, the concept BEHIND the stories is pretty good. The stories themselve though... nah.

Q: It did get weird. But I loved it all the same xD

Clair again: It was! But it was still a good movie xD xD

It was pretty much unwatchable. They replaced awesome storylines for weirdness and it failed.
