Applying a gender is better in this argument, me thinks. After all, a baby is a human being, not an 'it' ^_^
Yeah...that bugs me how people press the argument 'but abortion empowers woman!' When in reality it is a cowardly action -_-
explain more for me!
The cowardly part?
Well, a woman would get an abortion because the pregnancy would be an inconvenience she does not want to face, or she does not believe she is ready and wants to get out of it, or like ji-chan (I forget her new name already, lol) said earlier, she would not want to explain to her child that they were the result of rape. Or, in the case of pregnancy through consented sex, especially unprotected, the fear of faces the consequences of their actions.
Pro-choicers say that abortion empowers women because it gives them the rights over their own body. In reality, abortion is submitting to fears, not becoming empowered.
I'm sorry if cowardly was maybe too strong a word ^^; I go a little overboard sometimes.
