He had to be born to fulfill long lines of prophecy. Sure he could have never made those prophecies but then he would have a little less credibility.

Christmas is also the hope of mankind, because Christmas was the day the World's savior was born.

And we live in an age where people are celebrated more so then in those days, Jesus didn't celebrate his birth but did he celebrate his death either? No but we do and we call it Good Friday ironically.
