On this joyous event, a ton of relatives are sharing a 4 bedroom beach house literally a few feet from the ocean.
Someone had the brilliant idea of making my Broskies and I share a bed room.

I think they celebrate it as a means to be thankful for the harvest. There may or may not be religious implications to it as well. I suppose with most things, depends on the family.
