We should all just squash it so I can create new ambiguities!
And I always found it funny that gender apparently means to much to people online.

But for day to day needs, do you really need to know the gender of someone unless you plan on dating them? Is gender really that important of a feature to know about someone?

I would like to know if I'm talking to a girl or guy. Yes. Even if I never plan on dating them.
And if they lie. They are sick. ^^

(This is an interesting debate and I am with you and Q in this. Over an extended period of time, learning about someone can give invaluable insight into their personality even online. I have grown to accept this and it is an invaluable lesson that I learned as I grew attached to the people on WOTN, I wanted to truly be myself)
I am sorry, Bano! I hope that one day you can forgive me!
Will you forgive me?
If they were lying, you'd never know though. Anyway, that's interesting. Different strokes I suppose, I just never bothered to care whether or not the person I was speaking too was male or female.Banouin wrote:Lunami wrote:Lying is something else entirely.

Honestly Titan! Your story was a bit different.
I think we assumed you were a boy and you ran with it.
Its all cool. I forgive you my friend!

Thank Gracious, Bano! I nearly died a little inside when I read that last post and I assumed you thought me a sick person. If it's any consolation, I never had the intention of hurting anyone. Though, what happened to your friend was truly wicked. I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy.
Thank you for forgiving me! I am too relieved!
Old Friend
Wishing one were the opposing gender doesn't always mean they'd reason to telling people they were otherwise. Secondly, there's also the chance for protection (whether or not one is actually protected). For example, my owner had to tell people she was male, it was the only way she'd be allowed to use the internet. It wasn't until she got older that she was allowed to say otherwise. There's many a reason to do so, but I wouldn't hold it against them, whatever their reason.Banouin wrote:Lunami wrote:If they were lying, you'd never know though. Anyway, that's interesting. But why lie about it? Unless they really are just sick people or wished to be a boy or Girl. Or want to be seen as one.

In either case, whether or not they tell a lie, you'll never know. I just don't get worked up whether the person I'm talking to is male or female.
You don't have to believe it, but it's what I was told. But that's sort of my point! Someone can be right in front of you, lie, and you'd never know the difference. In either case, I still don't find gender to be that important of a note to make on another person. The physical body has little interest to me, as there are personally, better qualities than the shell they're using.Banouin wrote:I have a very hard time believing that story. But sure. ^_^

Because I tend to ramble, and I'm very forgetful. ^_^Banouin wrote:Lunami wrote:You don't have to believe it, but it's what I was told. But that's sort of my point! You keep saying that people can lie and we would never know even though I'm not fighting it one step of the way. So why keep saying it?
The point is and always has been if they lie over it. They are very sick sick people and unless I see otherwise. (Looks at Titan. There we go. A nice cool crazy girl. -Sorry Titan.- But yet. Not sick at all.) I will keep thinking that way.
You told me a story that you were told? Its not that we care about physical body. Or looks. Its about if I ask you if you are a boy or girl and you lie, well then. Thats a bad way to start off a friendship and there really is just no point for it beyond the ones I have gave.
Right, right, right!Mikel wrote:personally, it has always been such a hassle to lie so just tell the truth.

Coming from you all of people. I find that interesting! (Miss I am too good to put my gender down and when I first met Q I made him debate over it forever.) Hm de hm~
Lying comes naturally to me. It's much more difficult for me to tell the truth >_< Although it's gotten a lot better.

Oh, Q, how silly. You should know, by now! Interest in a gender is only half as fun watching someone else try to figure it out ^^
