What if someone has no or limited imagination though? Surely reading fiction then would be rather dull?SickSelfishSyQo wrote:Banouin wrote:quater wrote:A movie is short. It will at most take 2 and a half hours. And it's visually stimulating! It enwraps the senses.
A book is usually much longer, and can only work your imagination. And to do that it has to be a very well written book. I find very few do.
But, you should know the difference between a book and a movie, Bano. O_O
Every time I ask something like that...I feel it goes over your head. Or your messing with me!
Yeah. I get there is a difference. I mean down to the point. Books can work just like a movie in the fact that it can be cool and fun and be interesting.
I'm with you, Bano. Reading fiction is amazing. You can picture things however you like, while reading. And you can see all sorts of new ideas and situations. A good book brings things to life
What a boring person that would be.Lunami wrote:What if someone has no or limited imagination though? I can't do that with non fiction? Would my theology studies would qualify under such things, and hence the stories of say... Osiris and Isis? The stories of Solomon? Those of the Lady Inari?Banouin wrote:Lunami wrote:What if someone has no or limited imagination though? The point of reading is to expand your imagination.

I misread, my bad. ^_^ I replaced reading with "reading fiction" in your last statement! X.xBanouin wrote:Lunami wrote:I can't do that with non fiction? You said what if someone has no or limited imagination. As a point to not wanting to read nonfiction.
Not that they can do it other places. If you don't like reading non fiction due to lack of imagination why would you be reading FICTION to make it bigger?

Anyway, I don't quite follow that last statement right this moment. >.<
