Villages

Complain about things that the Villages do that don't make you happy.

Idea I already said elsewhere. Let's see what WotN thinks.

Our. Villages. Are. Dead.
We need something to revive them and I don't know that another Village Comp. this early would be good (though it might be; we need freaking users, too).

So, the major quote towers competition we had back during the village comp.~ The longest thread won, yes?
Well, I have an idea involving that basic idea.
Basically, every village would be given a thread in their village chat area. In a set amount of time (a week, a couple days, whatever), each village has to post in there as much as possible (no double-triple-quadruple posting, etc. This has to be conversation.) and the longest thread wins.

The winning village gets their clan next.

Secondary prizes could be stuff like...
• Villages who get enough pages to lock the first part of the thread and restart at four (you all know what I'm talking about, right?) get something (stats, ryo, kage-prizes [see rewards thread for semi-examples], etc.).
• If a village can agree on this, the most active poster in each village's thread could also get something (again, stats, ryo, etc.).
• Come up with brilliant idea(s) using your thread and get more random crap.
I dunno, someone help out with this.

No, it doesn't. That's why this is an attempt at village revival more than earning clans.
I mean, if Sand or Mountain wins, then we'll have to come up with a secondary prize.
If a village with two people wins, then they should be motivated to come up with more people for their clan.
Hopefully, posting in your village will bring about more active villages.
(You'd be amazed the threads you'll find if you go through your villages. Seriously.)

We could give them the opportunity to have a Clan, but they can't get it till they get a few more active members. Like a Quota.

In fact, maybe we should do that for all the Clans.

Like... If they win, they have X amount of time to get enough active people and most (if not all) of their clan stuff prepared. Otherwise, they lose this chance to get their clans and the offer is either dismissed entirely or moves on to the second-place (or keeps moving down until it reaches a village that doesn't have one, yet).

Okay. ^_^ I like that.

We should do that to Sand. Maybe it'd motivate us...Naw.

Technically Sand is good to go. The only problem is that half the clan isn't active and THE ONLY ACTIVE MEMBER who isn't the CL hasn't bothered to post in there, yet. :P

Villages just seem unoriginal.

Like their re skinned versions of each other, like Fox and Falco in Super Smash Bothers Melee.

If you join one village, say Sand; and someone else joins Inferno.There is no major difference in between them. They might have different topic names and stuff. But it boils down to each village having a shat area, mission area (was usually neglected) and a strategic area slash news area (also usually neglected).

this is probably because the Kages are so close, and really any major steps taken by one is usually taken by another, or the idea was brought before the whole group and decided upon, usually being yes, go ahead but sometimes the idea was shot down.

Maybe, if the kages made the decision for ideas for their own villages, without much consent of other kages.
Say Village A wanted to do Idea A but the other kages didn't approve of it, they wouldn't be allowed to do it. But instead they should, and if it fails, the village will learn from their mistake and move on, or one would say grow up.


I do think that the fail and learn aspect of the villages is not there. The only reason a village falls into danger is because no one is active, not because of a dumb decision or anything.

I was taught this year in film and video class that no idea is bad, and if you have an idea, no matter how dumb it may sound, can be turned into something.

This would require people to step out of their comfort zone from their village and propose new ideas that might destroy the village, or might make it better. But the Kage should be the final voice of his or her own village, and no other Kage should decide or affect that decision. Because right now, its as if all kages are running the villages the same way, except for those who are never on, and do not really make crazy steps for fear of being looked down upon or being the object of hate by other kages.

That actually is how it works. There's just not much initiative on ideas.

That is simply not true. There are such things as bad ideas.

If any Kage is not doing stuff because of that, I do not know it. I try stuff with Sand, and have been. Now originally that was how Kage's worked, back back back way back when PF and Jose ran the show. But I got tired of their stupidity and started experimenting on Sand in my own way.

Now with that I don't disagree with your idea. But how do we make them all original? You were a Kage once, Amaterasu, and what did you do to make Mist special or different?

The idea that each Village should be original is a no brainer. But how do we do it?

He didnt do much to make mist special, i would know, i was there everyday, only thing that changed was the missions thread, which was also my idea.
