Sure sure. ^^
So can you tell me about Russia now? :D
Okay! *waits*
Well, Russia in the 1800's was run by a Czar, which is basically just a King. He lived and made the peasants toil. Russia was not very prosperous, either, because it's so corrupt and so freaking cold there. So in the early 1900's they had a revolution, where they overthrew the king and brought in Capitalism. But right after they brought in capitalism world war 1 erupted and the country went to heck. So the Communists moved in, blamed Capitalism for World War 1 and all their woes. Actually, the Germans snuck Trotsky, the biggest Communist there is, back into the Russian Country hoping he'd screw Russia up. And he did!
So Russia had a big bloody revolution where lots of people died. And they went Communist. And then a man named Joseph Stalin took over. He really screwed the country up and brought in all kinds of military and takeover and torture and etc. He is believed to be responsible for killing between 20 million and 30 million people. He also had his own version of a Holocaust against all the people that were not Russian in the Soviet Union, which was a lot of people.
So Russia got big and fought, but it was still inefficient and poor as one gets. And eventually Joseph Stalin died. And other dictators took over. During the 70's they really seemed like they might beat back America, too, because all our leaders were panzies and wanted to give peace. They built up their nuclear arms.
And when things seemed bad, Ronald Reagan was elected. He said screw you Russia we'll build nukes if we want. He made very clear he wasn't scared of fighting Russia. He started a system that could redirect Nuclear bombs missile patterns, and he also tricked the Russians loads of times costing them billions of dollars. The Russians tried to keep up, but they couldn't compete with us militarily at all because Americans had soooo much more money than they had.
He also told Russia to get a more moderate leader. And then he pushed that moderate leader to the brink. The leader needed more money to compete with the US, so he tried to bring capitalism back into Russia. But after it started to come, it just kept coming and got too much for Russia to handle. And with Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush the first promising Russia freedoms outside their current state if they just toss of Communism, it got too much and the Soviet Union collapsed.
Then they sat there and did nothing. They didn't really make a good capitalist country and continued to wait for handouts. A big Russian Mafia took over, and overtime the thugs of Russia took back control and started steering Russia back into Communism. And that's where it is today. Not communist, but getting back there.
Ah, well that's sad. :[ *Gives Ivan a hug*

Well hm...Communism does provide a roof over your head and a meal but there would be dictators who would have all the money. :/ But if you grew up with nothing but communism you would probably not adjust well to Capitalism where you must compete to do well. It's still kinda sad to me, though :3

Actually, that's not true. For the millions that lost their lives, and the millions more that ended up in concentration camps, and the millions exiled to Siberia, and the millions put into forced worker camps, Communism didn't provide a roof over their head or a meal except in the most limited sense.
