Obama Peace prize? Empty Obama Peace prize?

    Post by amaterasu

okay, so you probably have all heard that Obama has won the nobel Peace Prize.

    My question, what for?

Did he do anything to earn the peace prize?

something interesting though, (just as a side note)

That Hitler was a candidate for the peace prize in 1938

Does anyone know why Obama won the peace prize?

If you're really interested in the subject, he actually fits perfectly into the peace prize model. Shall we look at other recent candidates who won this award?

Al Gore - For his 'great' achievement with Global Warming that has really brought about peace.
Jimmy Carter - For his 'great' achievement with Iran (Hahaha) and his complete inability as a President to do anything right, followed by his current rush around the world to talk with mad dictators.
And finally, there was a woman who won the Peace prize a few years ago. She, then went to an International Women for Peace conference, and said, not just once mind you, but twice, that she had fantasies of killing President Bush.

A few of her Peace Prize quotes are:
"I have a very hard time with this word ‘non-violence’, because I don’t believe that I am non-violent,"
"Right now, I would love to kill George Bush."

So yeah. Nowadays Peace Prize? Talk about a sham.

I looked through the list, which happened to include advocates for democracy (not a personal hurrah for me, but anyhoo), banning and clearing of anti-personnel mines, disarmament of nuclear weapons, helping to resolve wars in foreign countries, ending the cold war, assisting holocaust victims, missionary, charity, humanity...

There just so happens to be a couple oddballs every now and then, that's all.

I would have no objection to Obama winning this award if he had actually done something :/ Therein lies the problem.

Of course you couldn't agree with me. Would of been awful if you had, huh?

If you notice, I was referring to recent award winners. Not over the scope of a hundred years.

Also, take a look at the list of other nominees that were nominated for the awards that were thrown to these schmooks instead and tell me that I wasn't right to critique it.

And for once quit disagreeing with me on issues you know so little about. Its not like I'm a bad person. Or an evil person constantly trying to fool the masses with my diabolical plans.

In fact, I agree with you. The nobel Peace Prize is a great prize. That's the point of my post! They're screwing up the whole issue giving it to people who don't deserve it.

I'm not saying I disagree with you, in fact I think some of the recent winners were quite undeserving. I happen to think it's simply a waste to throw out the prize as a whole.

Take, for instance, a couple years ago in Canada where our prize of honor was bestowed upon an abortionist. It made me so angry and upset, there weren't words for it.

People just look up to the wrong things sometimes.

    Okay, good.

Then don't quote my post and try and justify the nobel peace prize in a way that SEEMS like you're disagreeing with me.

This is an issue I really can't justify someone disagreeing with. Its completely ludicrous how screwed up they made it.

Haha, SSS made me laugh. ^_^
