My Opinion on WOTN (2) Empty My Opinion on WOTN (2)

    Post by quater

First I'd like to note that Amaterasu made an excellent Blog on pretty much the same subjects I'll be talking about here. So if you'd like, here's a link: Site Renewal

Now to begin I'd like to say this WOTN revival effort isn't perfect. There is no doubt among the operatives who are pushing it and those of us who are directing it that it isn't by any means flawless. There is plenty of room for improvement among us and we'd dearly take any. I mean recruitment and growth wise, our revolution has lacked a lot of new users and this really could use fixing. With that being said, this WOTN revival is working wonders. Tuesday night I saw a rarity grace my eyes. And I thank God Almighty I saw it. 16 Ninja on. And today I was able to snag this miracle.

My Opinion on WOTN (2) 7p5egae8lyikkz2x19i

Wow. Just wow. That's something you don't see on WOTN a lot. In fact, I can tell you when the last time 17 Ninja were on WOTN. It was in March. And it was a miracle as well. (Also, in both instances prayer was involved)

Guys do you see what's happening? All of you naysayers who still isolate yourselves, do you see what's happening? WOTN is reforming before our eyes. Today 17. Tomorrow 12. Then the day after we might see 18! Who knows. But will you continue to sit on the sidelines? Will you continue to complain and be apathetic in every imaginable shape and form while Way Of The Ninja races back into existence? And 11 are on right now, with me, at 12:36 AM! This is monumental!

Do you guys remember 3 weeks ago? I say 3, because we are entering our third week of this revival. I consider Thursday the official beginning for it was the day I put up the new layout and recreated WOTN sprites. But don't forget that the week or two before the foundations were being laid for WOTN's return. But seriously, 3 weeks ago? July? Is it just me or does that feel like such an eternity ago? Those days where WOTN was fighting to keep the bar full to the maximum of 3 people. When at 7 PM you could easily find yourself completely alone online, for hours! When I got home from college today it was 1 PM. And 9 people were with me and the bar had 5 of them! That's new! You can just feel the overflowing spirit in a lot of people bustling. I enjoy, heck am very much addicted to the site all over again.

Guys I am seeing Ninja I had forgotten existed! Spyke is being seen commonly online. Meika is here everyday. Gaara Of The Sand was seen online again? Everyday an old face that we were sure was dead returns and shocks us all. And you guys want to ignore this? When could we ever get another chance to revive WOTN like this? When will so many long lost and forgotten friends return to the site like this again? Never is when! This is WOTN's last shot at success verse the mourning of a burial! So if you aren't in the game, then stop wasting our time. This is the chance we have all waited for and we are being given a Godsend.

And whats more, I am seeing all of these people trying to address the issues of WOTN! These people are coming up with awesome ideas and running their own programs! They aren't waiting, they are jumping on the bandwagon. Heck, Amaterasu, Abby, and Bano have all made moving blogs about projects on WOTN they are working on or about what the needs are of WOTN. We've never HAD the ninja of this site spontaneously deciding they wanted to show others whats going on WOTN and what we need to work on! That's always been a Kage's job, or my job. We've had people take notice, but never or rarely ever would they make a thread shouting, 'We need to fix this, so get involved!' Heck, this was started by Meika's thread saying just that! Its unheard of.

Looking at all the additions its amazing how much we were able to get done, thanks to you guys, in 2 weeks. To recap: Arcade is now open to all and has been meeting success largely thanks to Bano's efforts; a new layout and a banner created by Spyke has really caught everyone's attention and is quite nice on the eyes; a completely redone battle system that is easy, fun, and exciting to use; a war was declared between two villages and the War is not only going off but the system was also proven to work; new fighting sprites now adorn the front page that makes the site look just a teensy bit more active; we've created a weapon's shop with all types of useful objects for fun battling; we've given Ryo meaning and stats a more useful purpose on the site; we've added a very prominent blog section to the website; we've created a very new ninja friendly Ninja Academy; we've created a WOTN Youtube Channel and uploaded many videos on it; and we've said happy birthday to about 30 people. Okay, the last one isn't really as important. Still, this isn't even all! Us in leadership are still working on some new updates. And there is a big surprise coming that even you guys won't believe is in the works.

Praise to God, that was a lot! I think I got carpel just writing it. 2 weeks and all this? Never before in WOTN history have we seen such a huge increase in updates. But that's not all that's worthy of note! Look at all the new volunteers we've got doing projects on WOTN! They're everywhere and teeming with the excitement! The energy. Not just new volunteers, but even old behemoths like myself are feeling this new energy! My point is, WOTN is going somewhere!

The infrastructure of WOTN has been repaired better than I've ever seen it. So now we need to work on one other segment of WOTN that is being ignored. The state level. The Villages. I wasn't aware until recently- the past two or three days I've been poking my head into the other villages- how truly dead they were. People say the bar is dead when no one posts for a few hours. Then the villages must be rotting carcasses already picked dry by vultures because there are sections in every village that haven't been posted in in months. This has got to change. Now I've made pleas to the Kage's, but I don't think many know where to begin. So this is how you ninja can get in on this. See something you want in your village? PM your Kage. Want an area updated? PM your Kage. Have an idea? Even the world's worst idea? Sure! PM your Kage.

Me and my team of brainstormers, who by the way are an excellent group of some of the greatest minds you'll find anywhere. Originality like you couldn't believe. And they don't try to "please me" either. But back to where I was, my team and I are working on fixing the problems of the Village's, ranging from clans and missions to extras and what will make each village unique. But you ninja out there need to start harassing your Kage's! I say this because I have no other solutions to getting some of the stubborn ones to work other than making them accountable to you! You must remember, WOTN is completely controlled by you the people.

The Kage's, active ones, and the Vice-Kage's are essential to the future of WOTN and the current changes taking place. This movement on WOTN cannot continue without renewed vigor on their part. Let's skip the fact they implement all new ideas and run and organize their ninja, which is vital to the hope of a Village. They also have extraordinarily important impacts on new Ninja! New recruits into the villages learn a ton from what their leaders do. If the Kage's attitude is to ignore the work of the site, then so will these new users and we will not break the apathy so plaguing the site. When the Kage is energized and throwing out tons of ideas with tolerance, so will the new user! This is just one of the duties the Kage's need to take seriously. And I do not wish to degrade the Kage's, because they have done great things for the site. They are also understandably very busy and they have no real clear messages of what to do. They have to fill shoes that have long been discarded. Heck, its been years. But its time we stepped up. All Kage's. The new era of WOTN demands it. For it will not sustain us if we fail.

Are you wondering to yourself, reader, "Well, I'm not a Kage, what should I do?" That's simple. Message your Kage! Let them know you'd like to help them! They can do a lot if YOU volunteer for them. And ask them to keep tabs on the Important Kage threads. Ask them your ideas for your village. Ask them! Ask them! Get them back in the game even if you have to drag them back. And don't be afraid to take initiative! Post a thread in your village saying you're ready to revive your village! All the Kage's, my humble yet superb self excluded started where you are now. Or talk to the Vice Kage's! If you don't know who your village VK is, then that's a good question for your Kage. If Pming them gets you no response, then just start leading yourself. Amaterasu started out self leading. Technically so did I.

The village's are the next step in this WOTN process. Though big things are still in store for Way Of The Ninja overall, we won't see the continued improvements at lightning speed we saw earlier. If we are to continue to ensure WOTN activity, posting, threads, and a strong future, we need to move onto the Village's. The Village's should be centers of activity that foster growth and expand the site with competition and the clash of ideas and loyalties. They should be what glues the site's fun side together when WOTN itself can't fully keep up. This is very possible, but it requires a lot of you still hiding or waiting to step up. You won't be dissatisfied if you do, either. Look at WTS, WOTNopolis, or any of the other original projects Bano, and I have all worked on? If you asked either of us, or any member of the current spirit really, if they regret how hard they worked, they'd say no. In fact, they'd say they are proud of how big these projects got. Don't you want to be able to say that about Way Of The Ninja? Or are you content to hope it continues, but if it doesn't, who cares, right? Because that's the attitude that ever got anything in history accomplished.

It is kinda sad that no one read/commented on this (unless it's new and no one was on when you posted it)

Anyway, I think this is awesome. (I being one of the Kages who is steadily decreasing productivity due to retarded exterior issues)
But yeah. I love the new improvements. And I'd freaking love some of my mist nin to send me a message or reply BACK to them. Spyke has been more active lately :D Big cheers to him and Ama.

Yes so......good luck and I'll try to keep doing whatever it takes and, if not, more.
