Semi-colons can go find a hole somewhere for all I care.

Oh! Those, too! I only use them when I'm making up words or using run-on words. (Run-on sentences, run-on words. Yup.)

The dash thingy is used kinda like parenthesis.

No, periods always go inside quotation marks. Commas, too. It's weird, I know.

Well, it makes sense if you think about it. The punctuation that was used, was part of what someone was saying - so they go inside the quotes.

Fish -- Something like that. I just remember that periods and commas go inside the quotation marks and remember that exclamation points and question marks depend. Colons and semi-colons always go outside quotation marks.

for my post, that was not the case. I used the quotation marks to denote that word as something else.

Which is why Fish's statement is more of a rule of thumb for exclamation points and question marks.

I don't use them at all. I justify all my papers, so it isn't as obvious unless there's a huge word that gets knocked off. That's when I would use it, or try to find a smaller word.

I hate reading news articles in the newspaper 'cause of those things. Half the words are hyphenated. So annoying.

generally hard cover novels aren't justified. I'm not so sure about paperbacks though.

The way I described it was simpler than the way Q explained it to me:
They picked a couple things they both liked (Bano and Q) and stuck them after the term WotN.
