General Debate thread

Okay, I got this Idea from searching through all the old pages of good old chats in the Creation or Evolution and are you a Christian threads and thought that some argument in there didn't suit that topic, so I was thinking why not have a general thread to debate this kinda of questions?

So if you have questions or want to posts your ideas here go ahead, but i'm sure heated debates will start so try not to attack the person directly only their Ideas

Edit: I decided maybe to just have a debate thread for general as well, that way we can debate with others not as crazy as ourselves!

I think first off that freedom of speech should be well free and to ones opinion. But going to far and having it like our worlds freedom of speech (I.e. girl says boys are stupid and gets away free while a boy say girls are stupid gets hammered by everyone around him)
is ruining a lot of things

Well it is! Honestly, if we had freedom of speech, we would be allowed to voice our opinions.

we are allowed to voice our opinions in a non violent manner... however in school's and such they have there own set of rules which says you still have that freedom but has to be used in a respectful manor ... (you cant have the swastika symbol on your jacket. Its a freedom of speech however its offensive to others.)

well you can but someone with authority would probably have the power to punish you .. lol so you can still voice your opinion but there will be consequences....

I'm not even allowed to talk about my religion in school :P And you can get arrested for saying homosexuality is wrong from the pulpit of a church.

Mhm. Freedom of Speech is dying.

We dont have freedom of speech in certain points of time and places. And they should specify that and not twist it around. I think the government does this on purpose when someone says to a cop "Your a loaded peice of shit." you will probably get arrested (Happened to my aunt) and what can you do? I find it retarded. We have mouths to talk, not to keep shut. If we have the 'debate club' at school and such, why hold us in on wht we have to say?

I don't know what's behind that whole freedom of speech thing. Honestly, we should be able to swear at a cop (one time I did, though I don't think he heard me ), and have that not be illegal. Because, I mean, come on if you were picked up by a cop and got arrested, it would be an oppertune moment to say "Oh sh-t no way! You've got to be f-cking kidding!"
