Ever heard that Julius Ceaser was murdered on the ides of march?
Actually, on some years, the nation latin exams are on the ides of march.... O_o;;
Yeah actually I remember that. Et tu brutus and all that.
Fearing things like Ides and 15's and people born in in 39's I feel is just kinda silly. ^_^
You are in charge of life, fear not.
Et tu, Brute, I think it is... vocative case... or something.
Yeah... She says it's bad luck though
I don't believe in luck. Though I can be extremely lucky or unlucky when I want to be ^_^
And I didn't take Latin, but the English Translation commonly used is Et Tu Brutus. It got more Google Results afterall.
I think there was a quote by someone famous... "I believe very strongly in luck. The harder I work, the more I have"
Le gasp! They do it wrong! >.< It should be Et Tu, Brute
You see I took Spanish. And then I failed Spanish 3 and they stuck me in an elective after an intense semester of fighting for my right to a class I wont fail. So Don't ask me about Translations ^_^
That's a good quote. A continuation of it is "Shallow men
believe in
luck.
Strong men
believe in cause and effect."
Okays... In NY, you only need 1 year of foreign language to graduate though...
I think I'll write that down and tack it to my wall sometime...
Haha cool.
Dang that's so lucky! In my State it's required to get an AP Certificate to take 4 years, but that was ammended for me since technically they didn't have enough teachers.
Really? For honors, it's only 3 years for us... I'm quitting after next year... I don't want to take anymore....
And you get latin too.
I got robbed ^_^
Yeah ^_^
We have german, french, spanish and latin.
Robbed? Like... someone broke into your house?
We had French, Spanish, and American Sign...Real unuseful. We had German but they got rid of German 1 the year I joined! (I really wanted that language to! Stupid American sign took it!) And this year they added Chinese but it's to late...I was not in a good foreign gap at my school.
Anyway, back to robbed, no silly robbed is a slang term for I got jipped, cheated, scallywagged, or I was done unfairly.
