ehh....it supposed to be "everlasting" unless sealed...but might be able to be but out......because to over come the Mangekyou....there is a possiblility that its not everlasting..... but besides that its pretty cool....but itachi...i think its time for him and sasuke to go to another world....hatered that engulfed them only left them hopeless........so they should both lose.....but then again its been drama between them

But as for Amaterasu anyway, I think the fire does go out though. Remember at the Hotel room with Jiraiya's Toad deal and Itachi used Amaterasu to bust out of the wall? Well I doubt that fire just kept burning for the rest of time I am sure it went out eventually.
Besides, Mangekyo was supposed to be overcomable and Sasuke beat it. Orochimaru was supposed to be the big dog unkillable and Sasuke beat him down. And Sasuke beat Deidara. I think Sasuke can handle it. But Amaterasu is pretty interesting to watch ^_^

yea sasuke is a main character in a manga/anime series.........now on top of him being the main character he's the MAIN..character's rival...........now we all know how it goes.....if the main character does something spectacular (like how naruto was gettin oro)....the main character's rival MUST do something even better (sasuke actually "kills" orochimaru).....and the circle keeps on going....naruto kills kakuzu....sasuke "kills" deidara.....naruto goes 4 tails....sasuke hasnt rivaled that yet....so he's gotta pull something out his ass in this battle.....even if he doesnt win...he WILL get hella close

I'll try not to guess who wins and who doesn't. I like Sasuke and Itachi both the same (Itachi is better though. *His Ungratefull little brat of a brother must respect elders*) I'll just stick to watching the fight to the end.
If Itachi dies then there wont be anything else for Sasuke to do. and Itachi (even if he is a mass murderer) deserves to live.
If Sasuke dies, then Naruto will have nothing to do but to avenge Sasuke (and Naruto will become the avenger -_-;)
Hope they just both get exausted. Kisame takes Itachi with him to safety. And Sasuke's little friends do the same for him.
