But I can feel your pain. In my city we have a bridge that is our symbol, and during reconstruction those workers broke the mechanism that used to move the bridge(up/down/ I don't know how else to describe how it works -_-;;)

it used to be beautiful. When I vacationed in Korea a while back and went to visit the South Gate at night, it was wallpaper worthy.

I was wondering the same thing as Kaga... and so my mother. It was beautiful... It's sad it's gone now.

Korea's South Gate, or Namdaemun, has been standing since the Joseon Dynasty of Korea (the 1300s-ish). The South, West, and East Gates have been standing through centuries to guard Seoul, and even after the Japanese Invaders destroyed Seoul's city walls and destroyed the West Gate, they still stood standing until the stupid arsonist destroyed the South Gate.
It's really symbolic to Korea's history, ya know.
