Seems like a lot of adults are against it too. I know my friends' parents are against it, and my brothers are extremely against it. We barely spend any time with our families as it is, this is just making it worse. Big mistake voting for Obama, people xP

This is just a small fraction of what he's doing to JUST our education.
Like the School Safety Czar, a position by the way I have no idea why we have it, was a man who told a 15 year old boy who came to him for advice on a homosexual relationship with an older man. And instead of telling him, "Hey, that's against the law, its actually rape." He just told him to make sure he used a Condom.
And even if you're all gung ho for homosexuality, do you really think a School Safety Czar should promote illegal actions? *I am concerned about the lawfulness here, if I haven't made it clear*
And then he bragged about it.

Re: Want longer school years?
This society is seriously going downhill. I'm the kind of person who believes that if you love someone, then go for it. But for an official that's supposed to be enforcing the law, to just ignore it like that and then brag about it just makes me think, what the hell are they going to do next, let a real rapist go free? Or maybe even murderer.

They already do both of those.
A man in Massachusetts who raped a little girl was given 9 years or something in jail. Then he got out, went to a house, tied a husband up in the man's basement and made him listen as his wife came home from work, was raped, and then beaten. The only reason we know this story was because the broken limbed husband snuck out of his basement and went to a neighbor's house to get the police and a gun.
But the judge who let him go early so he could terrorize people again? He's still got his job and is still passing out similar dictates.
And I agree, love is good. But if you're gonna love the person, then love them, but don't have sex with them if its against the law. And don't legally condone having sex with older men when its illegal. And then don't brag about it!

Re: Want longer school years?
That's so fucked up. This is why Obama should stop focusing on education and let the system be and focus more on the more corrupted parts of this country.
Exactly. I don't get why people think that having sex means you're in love. They can wait, if the age makes it illegal. I swear, people don't have self control these days >_>;;

Re: Want longer school years?
Or he could allow people more choice when it comes to education and let them choose where they send their kids to school. Instead of forcing them into the same cruddy part of the school. But actually, President Obama is extremely corrupt, and so I wouldn't want him trying to fix corruption. That's like fixing fire with a torch. Plus, President Obama doesn't have jurisdiction over the Judicial system except in electing judges.
I agree! Sex is not love, sex is just a human experience. You can HAVE love in sex, say if you have sex with your husband/wife. But if its illegal then you probably shouldn't be doing it. And as a SCHOOL Professional you can't Support it!

Re: Want longer school years?
I thought we can choose where we go to school? I like the school I'm at. I just don't like spending so much time there.
That's true. But it's hard to find people that are "uncorrupted." It's just the way it is, it can change, but there's really a small chance.
But in all honesty, this society is no where near going up anytime soon. With it's corrupted government officials and fucked up way of thinking. I don't expect them to be perfect, just at least know the difference between right and wrong and take people's opinions into considerations.

You can't. If you want to go to a private School you still have to pay Public School taxes and then go through a really long process to move your kid out. You can't go to one public school that has better teachers if you are zoned for another one. No matter what. And starting a private school or a charter school in this country is literally impossible they throw so much legislation and litigation at you. To create one you basically have to stop teaching kids at all. Which defeats the purpose.
I'll change it! I don't dig corruption. And it'll be hard to corrupt me because I am happy with very little. As long as I can support my future family I'll have all I need.
They will change. We the American people can still vote, so we can still change them. How? Figure out a way to throw them out. And learn. Learn all you can about how it all works. If you don't know how the Politics works, how can you stop it?

Re: Want longer school years?
I've been going to private schools since I was younger cuz my aunt thought that was what's best for me so I wouldn't know anything about switching out and stuff.
Obama doesn't seem like the kind of person that would be thrown out because of perjury and things like that.

That would explain some of that. ^_^ It is best. You lucky duck! They have to teach you a little more in those.
He'll never get thrown out. Could you imagine how much the media would whine if we threw out the first black president? We'd be hearing how racist America is for another century. No matter how illogical or stupid that is.
Besides, he's too corrupt to throw out. Everyone to replace him is not one lick better. And we can't do anything about it, even if we have all the evidence he's wrong.

Re: Want longer school years?
I don't think it's any different from some of the better public schools, just a lot more strict.
They'd blame it on racism, but I think America is more sexist than it is racist. Hilary Clinton was also in the race, but we would rather see a black man become president than a white woman. I don't mean to offend anyone, but it's true. If it was John McCain was running against Hilary, McCain would've won. Cuz a lot of people are still like that.
Not any better at all. It just makes living here all the more sad. At least it's not a communism.

Re: Want longer school years?
It might not be, but I would blame that on the stupid rules. But typically private schools do a lot better on scores testing.
No! I disagree completely. I didn't vote for either of them. That wasn't because I didn't want to see a woman or a black man become President. Because fundamentally I disagree with them!
I think America is hardly sexist nor Racist anymore. I think the ones making it a sexist and racist society are the ones always calling racism and sexism. They are the ones hurting us more than any other.
Its just heading headlong for socialism. *Awaits the Canadians to rush in and tell me how its not all so bad like they do everytime*

Re: Want longer school years?
Because to be in private schools, if you don't have the money, you have to have the brains. And more than half the students here are on either partial or full scholarship.
We hit a disagreement there. People aren't aware of it but they discriminate a lot. I know that when Obama was up against Hilary, mu uncles and aunts only payed attention to Obama and turned to another channel when Hilary was on, or just pretty much tuned her out. I'm not saying all people, but just from where I'm standing, people seem pretty sexist.

I disagree that that's sexism. And I didn't tune her out. I paid plenty of attention to her. *Not that that should surprise you.*
If you want to hear sexism, how about how everyone labeled Sarah Palin an idiot for no reason? She has never done anything to warrant an idiot. But Saturday Night Live made fun of her, and so she is an idiot. For no other reason!!! Or, how about where were all the feminists then, hm? All the feminists who always say a woman needs to take charge in a man's world? They all abandoned her right off the bat! And she was doing exactly what feminists want! She was a mom, aspiring to be a vice President of the United States. Isn't that the feminist message exactly? Don't let kids keep you out of the game? But where were they? All the people who usually call people sexist? They all slandered her to pieces. Why? Because its not about sexism. Its about winning votes. That's why I think feminists and those like them are the real problem. They support a woman up until they disagree with her ideology. Then they toss her and shred her.
So, thats' why I believe the real problem is those that call sexism then turn a blind eye as soon as they disagree with the person going.

Re: Want longer school years?
It doesn't surprise me. But it is sexism when they tune her out because they believe that a woman can't run the country. But like I said, I'm not talking about everyone. And a lot of people I know didn't even vote.
Don't even get me started on feminists. We can vote, we can drive, we can have just about any jobs, and a woman was able to run for president. What more do they wants?
Sarah Palin is an intelligent woman. But because of that, people dig up more stuff on her and, like most celebrities, things about her get magnified and people pick on what they can to make themselves feel better. The feminists want women to have more rights, but they don't want Palin to have her rights to her own ideas.
I always respect the things people think, even if I disagree, but some people just don't wanna show the same courtesy.

I think we have basically all the same views on this. Alpha rocks. She gets my seal of approval. At least, I think she does. I haven't asked her government questions but she seems to be quite an intelligent thinking person.
Feminists suck, Sarah Palin rocks! New bumper sticker.
And, the reason I didn't vote for Hilary Clinton is because, she's a Clinton. I know way too much about her and Bill.
Courtesy and civility is a lost art. I blame 8 years of President Bush bashing. And 20 years of people who rip into others wholly.

Re: Want longer school years?
She has a powerful mind and it's wasted trying to listen to all these ignorant people tell her otherwise.
I'd love that bumper sticker, when I get my own car of course xD
Well, Bill was a good president, he just lied to the court, so they threw him out.
The thing with Bush was that he was really honest. And he was a nice person. But he made mistakes and it affected our economy so people bash him for that, instead of trying to do something themselves. Some people would rather sit by and watch things go down and criticize the people they thing are responsible, than to do anything about it themselves.
