Re: Egyptian Gods/Goddesses
That was in Egypt Ama, no worries.
I still like Bast (or Bastet), Osiris, Isis, and Ra.
Wouldn't it be cool if they found Osiris's tomb? There's a legend that Isis buried him in the desert somewhere.

Re: Egyptian Gods/Goddesses
Osiris, Ra and Anubis pwn.
The tale of the sphinx was something like...
Once upon a time there was a prince who came upon the Sphinx, the Sphinx said that if he answered all three Riddles with the correct answer he would be returned home with fame and fortune, or somewhat anyway. :/
I like Roman shit, that owns.
Egyptians are freaks, seriously, The Book of The Dead? Mummifying? Putting organs in jar? they are fuckin' aliens i swear.

Re: Egyptian Gods/Goddesses
Still, it's kinda cool. The Egyptians were amazingly smart, I mean, Imhotep knew how to build the Step Pyramid, and other architects after that knew how to build other pyramids. They even invented their own written word (not very impressive to some people, but it is to me) and paper from reeds that grew near the nile river. They wanted to preserve their dead for generations, even centuries, for the afterlife, and the Book of the Dead I think told them the basics of it. If not more. I forgot what the organs-in-jars thing was about, but it was important too.

The organs in jars were dried out then had sweet smelling stuff put on them, then they were wrapped in linen. They were placed in canopic jars because that was were they would be under the protection of four minor gods.
The organs were vital to the dead persons survival in the afterlife - but if you left them in the body it would rot.

Re: Egyptian Gods/Goddesses
Real interesting.
Everything cool now-days is based upon them, Like books and stuff. :P
And there is all that stuff about there gods actually being aliens, and that, in exchange for hard labor, the aliens told the Egyptians how to make the pyramids, and how to lift the stones and stuff.
Also how females weren't aloud to be the king, or pharaoh but there still were few female pharaoh's.
And that whole thing about Caesar, Cleopatra and Antony.
And Tutankhaten, or Tutankhamun as he is known, about how they don't know how he died.

I never heard of the Alien thing.
But yeah, King Tut's death is most interesting. How did he die? Autopsies show that it was a blow to the head, but who killed him is the question.

The alien thing is cool. It's about how they were so advanced in there idea's. They had architectural skills that weren't around for many centuries later.
Didn't they say he fell off that chariot?

He could have been the Phareos son who died in the biblical story of the exodus from Egypt.

Re: Egyptian Gods/Goddesses
Good theory Ama, but what happened was that no one knows where his bloodline was from. He could have been a prince/pharoh's (sp?) son, or just a lowly commoner. His father in law was the pharoh though, and he was like married to his daughter, and she was next in line for the throne. Or, her husband was. And that's how he became king at 9 years old I believe.
But you could be right. No one really knows.
He was a very insignifiant king though, yet everyone knows his name :/

Re: Egyptian Gods/Goddesses
Tutankhamun was an Egyptian Pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty (ruled 1333 BC – 1324 BC in the conventional chronology),
In the Exodus account, the birth of Moses, on 7 Adar 2368 (about Feb-Mar 1391 BC),
The times for the possibility are actually factuable
So there is a possibility that Tutankhamun was actually the Pharaoh's son killed in Exodus
(All information taken from wikipedia)

Re: Egyptian Gods/Goddesses
then again it's only speculation, and really It doesn't matter much to me, but I was just voicing the opinion, my interest in Egypt kind of finished after history 10 in which we covered Egypt and other civilizations
