I have never met any others that do. I guess they do in your world. And Roses are way way more done then poetry. And at least poetry takes skill.

I'm not too sure about America anymore, as I've been doing some international work lately, but in Japan, as well as China, a lot of guys write poems. Not too sure about America. Not that many people give flowers in asia either.
