Block vs. Evade

What is the difference and should there be one?

I don't think there should be one.

Anything, that is not counted as an attack, that allows you to dodge an attack, should be count you an evade. Simple as that.

Well then should we allow peoples attacks to block attacks without the use of an evade?

No, if you took half damage from an attack it could take half an evade point or something, but to be blocking without the use of an evade seems like it would just be spammed by everyone.

Taking half damage half an evade would get confusing I would think.

Maybe make that open to ninja who are Chuunin or above.

I agree with Q, but i say we leave it out completely. It would just cause a mess.

I just want to understand 100% what Q feels is an evade and what isn't. I've always felt that if you do anything to avoid taking damage, even if it was an attack that allowed you to do so, it should cost an evade.

mmm...my topic....like stated in the opening thread......the only way to "block" an attk...is by the way you word the rp part of your battle.......you still have to use an evade...and adding another defense system would take alot of configuring and maintenence

like i stated b4.....s.till there is no difference and this should be done.....a block is an evade...but this raises questios to a certain weapon in the shop...for only 20 points in each stat you can purchase the mizuken which lets youe hit everytime without the opponent being able to dodge...but pf stated it could be blocked....so if block=evade....you can always use it....without worrying about damage

Well I just think that PF didn't word it right is all

how should it be worded.......i mean for a cheap weapons like tht,....you can do damage every round..making it an easy win if you know how to defend yourself

ok....so the mizuken cannot be evaded?

Simplicity. Since we have the Shield jutsu, it can't be evaded but it can be shielded.

Blocks are counted as evades. Blocks cannot be counted as a non reason for an attack to not go through. Sheilds are not blocks.
