Here's what I meant the father said that Neji may have the strongest bloodline in the entire clan, even stronger then your sister's, even stronger then yours. And that was before he had even seen him go 64 strikes. And now he can go 128 strikes and who knows what else.

Moving on, you asked why he didn't kill Hinata? Because it still was his duty afterall to protect her, plus why give away his best moves? Naw, you keep those things for later. But I am pretty sure he knew one of those techniques and just didn't use them because he figured they would end the fight on the grounds of him just being to good for her.
