Well, seeing as that Windows XP will be phasing out soon, I decided to go back to my good old Linux distros, especially now that I got a faster computer that can handle this kinda thing. Besides... try doing this in Windows.

    That's just purty.

Anyways, the only issue I'm having now is with wireless... seems the only way to fix that, is with Ethernet, which I don't have, cos my brother won't move the router closer to me so a cord can be reached around to my machine... And the community for my distro isn't being the most helpful yet, may take a few days before I get the answer I need. ><

Goal for the week... make some friends ogle my desktop when they see me doing stuff like in that video. O-o

... Wish my PCI card was plug and play.

My dad had a Linux. He thought he'd try it out, heard it was better than Windows. He gave it a year and he was miserable with it the whole time~

SSS had a linux too~ And she seemed happy to get back onto windows, from what I could tell.

If you don't know what Linux is look it up.

It is an operating system basically, just like Windows is

    Linux, not Linus.

Linux is an open source operating system that, for the most part, can be obtained free, and so is the software. It uses a command line interface as the major means of doing things, and it's completely graphically based like windows or mac. It's based off of the unix operating system from the 90's I believe, and is very tech friendly, but for the average windows user, many people have issues with getting it to work they way they want it (seeing as most of the people who go to Linux originated with Windows).

Ubuntu ( http://www.ubuntu.com/ ) is one of the most popular ones, currently on it's Karmic Koala distribution, which a new one is released every 6 months, in April, and in October. It's VERY user friendly, compared to some of the other ones. Currently using it now, actually. The main problem a lot of people have though with this (at the start anyways) is the wireless, seeing as you need ethernet to fix this issue the majority of the time (not so fun in my predicament).

Often times, Linux computers are used in large buildings such as hospitals, lawyer firms, etc... as a way to host the entire computer network. Other use it as a personal firewall, seeing as the majority of Linux, doesn't need to even be installed. It's often used on OLD laptops and computers for random things. I wanna get one for a firewall and ethernet, but dun think that's gonna happen anytime soon.

I could go on, but dun have to.
