um you guys must have no idea what spaming really is... if i spamed your website.. your website would not work properly or it would crash.. a spam starts out like a virus.... and posting can't put a virus on your computer.. i thought you people were computer nerds...

A denial of service attack would be the only thing strong enough to shut down the website, and you would have to attack all of forumotion at once to do that. And it would be temporary. An hour at most. Then you get carted off in a little white van by INTERPOL.

Spam is any post that does not contribute to the thread it is put in, does not give any helpful information, or does not express the posters opinion. Spam is also the reposting of one word, phrase, or message over and over again to the point of meaninglessness.

Just stop before NP actually has to become involved in this; and trust me, you don't want that.

And just to clear up the issue further, a virus on our computers, or even PunkFilter's computer, would have absolutely no effect on the website. It is hosted by forumotion.net, which is based in France. There is no way to hack this site, at least not while I'm here.

Yes, a true hacker could easily destroy the site, but that would be a matter of gaining the admin's password, not a true hack like a denial of service attack. There are ways to easily access those passwords through forumotion and certain email hosts, but with NP, there is no need for WotN to worry about any of that.
