Clan advertising thread.

We should set up a thread to advertise the clans available to new users so that they can get an idea of what is available to them before they join a village. I suggest posting it in the new users forum.

I disagree. I think people should join a village based on what they like and what village they think fits them, not based on what's new in the village. Because what's new will eventually become old, and this could lead to increased Village emigration and switching, which is alright on occasion, would not be awesome magnified.

How do they know where they will fit in if they do not have more informatioin about the villages and what is available for them in each one?

As of right now the only information they have to go off of is the Village name and nothing more.

From what I have garnered, you yourself endless joined Shadow based on it's name and haven't been to disappointed, and neither has most of the rest of WOTN. And those who did feel they make a mistake, will leave, and end up going back to their village 2 out of three times. And for that last third of a ten percent, they manage.

This is true, i wanted to pick a village that was not actually part of the naruto series so that i would have more liberty with my ideas.

My thought process was that in order to recruit a member to a clan they must first join the village in which your clan presides. Since there is no information about the villages except the name, then members would have no clue that a clan exists until long after already joining another village.

For example, let us say that a new member who loves Phoenixes knows nothing about clans. Makai clan in Sand would allow him to summon a Phoenix, but he does not know that so he has already joined Mist. Once he finds out about the clan he must then leave Mist, as well as whatever stats or rank he may have gained, to join Sand. I simply want to avoid that by allowing a new member to see that the Makai Clan, or any clan for that matter, is an available option from the start.

Which is not a bad thing. Afterall, Sand has had clans and we have not requested advertisement with them to get us more members, despite it having been cited as a reason we grew faster.

And why can't the new member summon Phoenixes in Mist? Is there a jutsu law requiring he can't? Why not the new member instead making water Phoenxies? Why does leaving Mist become his only option?

That is my question really. Why do you think people will have to leave their villages if they don't know about the clan? Maybe they can, stay where they are.

If they want to join the clan then they would have to leave to the village in which the clan exists. You said yourself the clans were somewhat of a falure due to lack of activity. I feel that because members can summon phoenixes or be a 'vampire', or whatever else there is, without actually joining a clan then it may end up causing the inactivity.

Especially since i know for a fact that Reden and i have a few requirements members must meet before being allowed to use the Kekkei Genkai of our clans. Why would anyone go through the trouble of joining the clan and meeting it's requirements if they could have its privilages without doing so? Giving everyone the freedom to use a Kekkei Genkai that others have had to earn before being allowed to use it defeats the purpose of having the clan in the first place.

I wasn't really hoping for anything massive. Just a thread where we can post the clan and bloodline name and the village in which it is located and nothing more.

That's not what I have come up with as the reason for Clan inactivity. I think that's a poor conclusion. And there is no reason that if anyone wants to have vampire related jutsu they must Join Shadow and your clan.

Because if the Kekkei Genkai adds Benefits in stats and benefits in fighting, which Renden's does when the qualifications are met, then it is more worth it to summon that form of phoenix then a Water Phoenix. It doesn't mean a member of Mist can't summon a Phoenix, just that their's will be less effective as the one summoned using the Kekkai Genkai is all, and that can be nullified by a great deal of labor on the Mist Nin's part. Or acceptance to the 7 swordsmen.

It is fine. Now i fully understand what you mean, members of my clan will have a buffering effect due to eh Kekkei Genkai as well. I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it.
